Even though I think we know the answer (considering triple the amount of people attended the festival from 04-06 compared to 99, this makes the results a little pre-deteremined)
Possibly, let's find out.
Underworld 1999
Rage Against The Machine 1999
Daft Punk 2006
Kraftwerk 2004
Tool 2006
Lamb 1999
Radiohead 2004
Bjork 2002
Pixies 2004
Arcade Fire 2005

How do you make polls? I tired and it didn't work out.
~If you're feeling sinister, go off and see a minister~
I would also like to add The Flaming Lips, 2004 - helping push Wayne around the audience in that big plastic bubble was a lot of fun.
Of course i'm home. I'm always home. I'm uncool! - Lester Bangs, 'Almost Famous'

I voted Lamb to give them some love. Their performance in 99 was AMAZING, although I think only me and C Dub Ya are left to testify to it. I wish I could see them live again, but I think they're probably broken up by now.
upcoming
Bjork doing Biophilia, 6/2 Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles, CA
Outside Lands, 8/9-11 Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
--almost, almost, almost the real thing
i just put the pixies back in first. or tied. i rule. or tie.
Basment Jaxx was great, and so were Arcade Fire...but Daft Punk trumped all including Pixies and Radiohead. I was in the first tier of the crowd, right up front for the entire show...simply AMAZING!
"Yeah chicks go nuts for that... the male camel toe."
"Yea yea! The camel tail."
I still see visions of those robots in my dreams. That was some serious shit! I'm not even a Daft Punk fan, but my god man - I thought that Pyramid was gonna shoot into outer space after their set got done. Good times.
...I think you are forgetting, Beastie Boys in 2003....
I voted for Pixies 2004 given that list, but I also would have added Air 2004. Their set wasn't necessarily that much better than The Pixies (The Pixies were one of the main reasons I attended), but given the timing (a sunset performance), it was amazing.
Ouch tough one, being a huge Radiohead fan that was my least fave performance of all the times I have seen them. So it comes down to DP or Pixies... hmmmm
JANE'S '01!
daft punk is prolly gonna get it. I mena a lot of people were amazaed...the light show alone....not to mention...
the coolness of it wasnt jsut the lights or the music....but that itwas daft punk's 2nd tour ever...there last one being 9 years before coachella, and they decided to start off playing at coachella. Maybe if you put madonna up there, she would beat out DP ..... even though she started late...left early...and played 4 songs
oh whoa wait! you sohuld start a poll of worst performance by a headliner..... hahah
see kids, Lily Allen is proof, you can go from being a drug dealer in Ibiza, to a musical star, and eventually play at coachella
The Pixies really need another tour.
Tool '99, Jane '01, Kraftwerk '04
Put Underworld 2003 and you have a close battle with Daft Punk
Daft Punk.
It wasn't just the music that made that the best show but the synergy of all the audience dancing and having a good time was truly amazing!
Well they both were amazing - you saw a dandy, no doubt. Crowd was amazing, the green lazers going off to King of Snake was MENTAL! But I don't like the 100 material nearly as much as the other records, in 99, there was no such material in the setlist. We even got Bruce Lee!!!!
Video projections in 99 were the same as the ones on the Everything Everything DVD, so, very cool. It was also nice in 99 because they were outdoors and it gave it a different experience than the usual tent thing.
I put my faves like this:
Underworld 99
Daft Punk 06
Underworld 03
Arcade Fire 05
Lamb 99
Belle and Sebastian 02

air 2004 should definately be on there. the cure was my favourite, but i wouldn't vote for it because i realize it wasn't exactly a great performance, it was just my first time so i was excited.
The two Mogwai sets were also fairly epic, especially the outdoor one last year.
