Music At The Campsites

The last two years I have camped out I have seen people with speakers and dj equipment to play music. I always wondered where they got the power to run these things. My group this year is pretty big around 4-5 campsites and of course we want to have music. I just have no idea where to get the power from. Can you convert car batteries into some sort of power outlet? We probably wont have dj equipment and speakers but we do at least want to power a boombox. Anyone done it before? Have ideas on how to do it? Thanks.

Make one of these, but use a boat battery (deep cycle). Your car battery was not designed for slow discharging.

Built mine tonight. Super easy, everthing I needed was at walmart. You can keep an eye out on usage and drain using a digital multimeter. Here is a good chart to keep handy:http://www.marxrv.com/12volt/voltchart1.gif

Advise to those playing music in the campground: Ask all of your neighbors if it's okay with them first. Not everyone likes your music.
