Never car camped by myself before but all my friends bailed on me this year . Of course im still going its Coachella, just wondering if anyones camped alone before and what ima need thats different, if anything at all. Also wondering how many of us there are out there. Kinda bummed on the situation but ey still way too excited this far away from the venue

I'm a lone ranger this year as well due to my Coachella buddy not being able to go. Figure I will get some weird looks since most spots have several people in them. I just don't want to invite a random person to carpool with me or share my area. Does that make me a bad person?

Me, too! and I've never gone to coachella before, I'm just bringing my little tent and sleeping bag and hoping I can find a place to put them or some cool people to join. All of us loners should link up! Adrienne (weekend 1)

One of the main issues is that this year since I am alone I will be driving in the cluster getting in. Usually I am the one drinking in the passenger seat. Doh!

I think there is a group that go solo and all try to camp together every year. They just meet up before hand. I swear I read something on here about that before...

i went a few years with others, but it got bad driving out, so i started camping alone. i think i went by myself four times. best suggestion is to make friends with your neighbors. a few years ago, i started getting friends to camp with and funny cuz that year, i met a neighbor from like four years before who was a loner like me the second year i went solo. the following year, befriended a neighbor who came from new mex by herself. you're never gonna be totally all alone - unless you want it.

Went solo to the polo a couple of times. The reality is that your never alone once you hit the fields. Setup camp, crack open a beer, meet your neighbors, the rest will take care of itself.

I go alone every year and it's great. I catch-up with other friends attending for a set or two, but I love doing Coachella mainly by myself. It's very zen for me. Waking up alone at 7:00am and walking through the quiet camp grounds feels terrific. It's nice to not be woken up when someone else stumbles in the tent at 4:00am. It's great to not fight over what set to see. And if you're lonely or wanna strike up a conversation, it's not like there's a deficit of humans to choose to interact with.

For me personally, the solo experience is a chance to do some rediscovering and reflection. If you drink lots of water and take care of yourself, you can't really go wrong.
