I agree with that guy. Instead of comparing festivals, let's compare really bad hair.

I submit these three for your consideration:

A tough choice, I know, because they're all so comically terrible, but each in their own unique way.

It would have if it had been a one-weekend destination festival. How many tickets to this can you sell for a couple of nights in Des Moines or Omaha?

    +1 This.^

The Cure has so much good material over the past 30+ years. It would be a real shame if they gave them anything below 2. Anyone remember how long RHCP played last year? I think Green Day played at least 2 hours.
    2/21 - Skinny Puppy
    5/23-25 - Summer Camp
    7/18-20 - Pitchfork Music Festival
    8/1-3 - Lollapalooza

A few headliners have gone past curfew over the years. I think Green Day came close to 10:30.

They could conceivably do an aftershow on Saturday assuming the Osheaga and Lolla dates are Friday and Shnday.

I want to see what I look like with fifteen year old meth addict hair. How do I get one of those for my own use?

very solid line up, pretty much as expected, nothing spectacular in there, but very good overall
its a pass for me this year again cause of other things during the summer

I agree, but they could easily do one of those legendary pre shows the night before at The Vic or Metro like Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters have done. Wasn't thinking the same night.

I think RHCP played about 2 hours. Green Day were slated for 2 hours and went over by about 35 minutes I think. I think Pearl Jam also played for about 2.5.

Alternative indie music was really in a lull at that time in the mainstream and this lineup wouldn't have worked financially as a tour. I had bought tickets being the huge SY fan that I am. I have a silkscreen poster of this Lolla that somehow made its way onto the market despite being cancelled.

Green Day started at 7:45 and ended at close to 10:15.

If that's the real lineup, it's pretty good. I'm wondering if The Cure is going to be an exclusive or if they're going to play more shows in the U.S. If that's the only chance I have of seeing them, I want to go on their day.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

I think there was a Robert online quote after Montreal got announced that it would only be a tiny handful of shows.

Lineup is out. Looks like the leak was accurate - Mumford, the Cure, NIN, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, the Killers, Postal Service, New Order....

Would have been nice to see NIN, Kendrick Lamar, the National, Thievery Corporation and Emile Sande but the rest is meh. No exclusives that make you go 'wow'. I bet the lions share of these artists not playing Coachella end up at Outside Lands.

I was sure Coachella would get Angel Haze. It would've been great to have her and Death Grips in the desert this year.

Death Grips fucked it up for two weekends last year. I'm surprised they're even around a year later, to be honest. I guess we'll have to wait for the lead singer to sober up before he can inject himself with that fatal junk load we've all been waiting for. Otherwise, I was sort of hoping to see them again this year too...

Excluding M&S, Postal Service might be able to outsell the other headliners in most US markets in 2013. Circa 2008, NIN/Cure were doing as little as 5,000 in some markets.

part of the reason i think nin drew so little back in 08 was that they had no label behind them to help sell their tour. it was pretty much all done through their website.

2005-2009 was over saturation for everything NIN, especially touring. Is Depeche Mode's label still going to be pushing that album 6 months from now?

There is 4 years pent up demand for NIN so it'll be curious to see how their crowd compares to some of the other Lolla headliners.
