How close do you think they were to being a headliner? Would rather have Green Day instead of RHCP-

Green Day indeed puts on a great show, but it's not for Coachella.

    edit: Yet, anyway.

Green Day sounded great when they were recording in a small room with a bunch of feedback and distortion. Now they go out on tour and have some audio tech try and make all their instruments sound perfect, but it ends up sounding perfectly awful

Green Day would not have made the worst headliner. They're responsible for a lot of solid pop punk songs from the 90s, even if the stature of those songs hasn't exactly grown over time. And having gone back and listened to it a few months ago, I'll go on record saying that American Idiot is fucking legendary half the time. Their stuff since then has been minor, but they could put together a decent 80 minutes for the Main Stage.

It's so fashionable to dislike Green Day just because they haven't done any good music in about 15 years, but they do still put on a solid live show. Even so, I'm glad they won't be at Coachella (for now...)

I actually am taking someone who's never seen Green Day before. Should be fun.
