I'm finally caught up and the last 2 episodes were great in an I-needed-a-good-cry kind of way. I'd always had a soft spot for Thomas-John (mostly because of my crush on Chris O'Dowd), but never thought that he and Jessa were right for each other - even though up until 2 episodes ago, it seemed to be working better than expected. That break up scene was pretty rough, but it was necessary. Jessa and Hannah's moment in the tub was quite a moment and I was a sobbing mess up until Hannah totally defused the tension with the snot rocket comment, haha.
Shoshana and Ray are just wonderful. I love her naivety and it seems to be a perfect match for Ray's awkwardness too. the subway scene was just perfect! I can't wait to see how that story progresses, but knowing Lena, she'll rip my heart on it and then have sex with it.
I think Hannah did have a little bit of a revelation by wanting to be happy, but knowing her it was just another flash in the pan.
Can I just say that Season 2 Episode 4 was the best episode?
I was crying my ass off during that last scene. When Hannah is singing 'Wonderwall' in the bathtub, then Jess gets in the tub too and lets out all her tears. It was beautiful. :'(

I'm not sure if this was posted in one of the 14 threads that we've been discussing Girls in, but Lena Dunham is on the cover of Rolling Stone this month. I just got my copy in the mail, but haven't had a chance to read it. I thumbed through it a bit, and it looks like a good article so I'm looking forward to reading it soon. also, short hair works for her!!
I wonder how that will work for Hannah though. I guess it depends on how the rest of the season progresses and if Hannah matures a bit more, but I just can't imagine frumpy Hannah like that.
So maybe the short hair that totally works for her now will be transformed into something that fits Hannah's character once new footage is filmed.
i have to say, i find lena herself to be kind of annoying. the show is funny, but this season really shines on how horrible pretty much all of these girls, except shoshana, are to people. and i think some of that stems from lena herself being kinda well-off and coming from the entitlement generation; especially after seeing some of the quotes from her book.
i still like what she's doing, but i have to admit the girl just kinda irritates me.
I don't have HBO but I want to see the pilot or an episode or something. help

once you watch the pilot you'll want to keep on watching. it's kind of like driving passed an accident on the road.
You are stating the obvious. I like all the characters but they all do things that I hate. I still root for them and like them despite their flaws, and still enjoy watching the show -even if the storylines irritate me.
That's amusing considering your prior commentary in this thread about that episode. Let's do this - maybe you could provide your own plot synopsis on the next episode just to set the record straight?
Sure, except that what you did wasn't a plot synopsis. It was a pathetic attempt at insight and commentary that completely missed the point of the art. So do you want a plot synopsis or do you want commentary, 'cause they're not the same thing.
