The idea is that not many people had heard of the band before the lineup comes out and in the span of lineup research a number of people notice the band and then an unexpected surge of popularity and good vibes greets the performers when they take the stage. See: Hot Chip in 2007, MGMT (for better or worse, it happened) in 2008, I don't really remember in 2009, Edward Sharpe in 2010, some other bands the past couple years.
That's fair. I'm sorry, my last post was rude. I'm going to hunt for a better example than Blur (although that will be a happy song).
should be a good groove under that hot sun
I can almost guarantee a massive sing along when the Lumineers play Ho Hey

of monsters and men was my feel good set of lollapalooza last year but i agree i'm sick of hearing little talks on the radio...
My hope is we will get a new feel good song right at spring that will blow all of these away. Actually be new/exciting on the fields, not played out already by mainstream radio.
i have to go with fredbull on this one.
MGMT was a good example, that album was released December 14, 2007 and blew up Dec, Jan, Feb, March leading into coachella.
of monsters and Men album came out Sept 2011 been out over 1.5 years by the time they hit the fields.
Also you are sort of coming across as a whiny pussy in this thread slimwang.
Sixpack has been the best selection thus far. Some of you fucks are looking way too into this.
Wasted Days is also going to be awesome but doesn't really have the feel good element.
see here's where I have to say something.
has anyone re-read what the quote said?
it says that the song hits home with YOU. not sit-n-spin, not me, not PB Unit. YOU.
no audience singing along or any other communal reaction. just you.
alternatively, if this were a post to name your bet on this year's ,Somebody that i used to know, here's my pick.
'
didn't follow the rules, but...

"Ho Hey" has also been the #1 most played track in the US on Spotify
"The Lumineers" have been the #1 most listened to album for several weeks via spotify.
In the UK Spotify chart "Ho Hey" is #1, and "The Lumineers" is #2.
