This Lineup Has Totally Grown on Me

OK GV, you win. This happens every year, but this time even more so. This year's undercard is fantastic - so many great new acts that I'm being exposed to for the first time. Also, things like How to Destroy Angels' first live show? CANNOT WAIT.

This is why I love Coachella. I still don't get the RHCP choice, but whatever. I'm thrilled with the lineup now.

once you've gone a couple years you start to realize that at least one of those bands in the undercard you've never heard of will probably be one of your favorite sets of the weekend. headliners are cool and all but the undercard has almost always golden

A couple years into going to festivals big and small, I've found I generally look forward to the undercard more than the headliners. Honestly, the moment I saw the lineup I was in shock. I instantly looked past the headliners and shook my head once I saw at least a dozen bands that will never play Lollapalooza, forcing me to do Chella once again.

A significant portion are bands that I would have hand picked, with the expected fill in headliner(s). I expected Phoenix (fun) and RHCP (meh) but Blur/SR was a nice surprise.

Whatever the case, I'm more excited for this fest than years past.

Haven't seen one headliner in my three years at Coachella. OK, a couple songs of Arcade Fire in 2011 before going into Scissor Sisters, but that is it.

Scissor Sisters was so much fun that night. Everyone was dancing and singing along just having a great time.

I don't regret missing most of Arcade Fire for a minute. The dancing at Scissor Sisters was hardcore. I lost 5 pounds and all my water weight that night sweating and high impact cardio.
