2013 - Friday Set Time Predictions

Okay, made a few changes. Gave the Stone Roses and Blur an extra 5 minutes each, which necessitated bumping around the silent main during Lou Reed bit. Moved 2 Door Cinema Club to outdoor, Metric to main to see how that looks (I think that's too early for them but there's no way they get bumped down to the Mojave after their packed 2008 outdoor at 6:15 set and they've only gone more mainstream since then), and adjusted the OMD/Rodriguez conflict.

Lee Scratch Perry won't be on the main, but other than that, your mainstage looks really good. Metric-> J5-> Modest Mouse -> YYYs -> Blur -> Stone Roses looks about right. With that being said, I still think it is possible Modest Mouse ends up on the Outdoor. Do BoH really have the draw to play that time on the Outdoor? Maybe switch Grinderman and BoH. I just can't see Grinderman playing the mojave.

Also, that Jurassic 5/ Japandroids/ Beardyman conflict would be brutal for me. You have J5 and Japandroids pretty much exactly where I see them though. Damn Friday is going to suck.

Those weren't co-headliners, and in both cases one act was electronic. Kanye West / The Strokes is a much better comparison - the only other actual co-headliners - and they had a combined 155 mins. That sounds about right for Blur / Roses.

That was on Suday though and the festival ends an hour earlier that day.

Do we think that WKND one Blur will close mainstage and WKND two Stone Roses? Or has that been resolved and it's Blur into Stone Roses (which is worse for me...boo)

The new Friday looks pretty damn accurate. I think Metric at 4:30 looks about right on the Main. Jurassic 5 vs Beardyman sucks. I honestly think if Beardyman plays the new stage he'll be on later.

A huge part of Purity Ring's live show is their lighting set up. Corin has set up their lighting rig to his midi mix and the midi triggers the way the lights look like. To them, their lighting set up is essentially an "instrument" and an integral part of their live set. Purity Ring may be low on the poster, but if you have ever attended Coachella before you will know that some bands that are billed super low on the poster end up playing at night in the Gobi/ Mojave. There is a very great likelihood Purity Ring will end up in one of the tents at night.

I think I would be more surprised if Of Monsters and Men went on so late. I think where this template has them listed is probably the latest they would play. They seem more like a daytime/sunset band to me.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind. But I think it could set up one of those mass migrations that we think they try and avoid from Blur to Lou and back to Stone Roses

What about flipping Lou Reed with Grinderman?
I don't want to put Passion Pit or Metric there because I think it would create a huge clusterfuck since there would be 50 minutes of silence of the main between Blur and The Stone Roses.

What is the clusterfuck with Passion Pit or Metric? I'd expect these two or Jurassic 5 to have less fan overlap with Blur/Stone Roses than Lou Reed and probably Grinderman. So I'd expect that there would be less mass back and fourth movement between main and outdoor.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking of traffic, but Passion Pit uncontested could be a huge crowd. I don't think Metric would have that big of a crowd or Jurassic 5. And they would still attract a different audience than the main.
