one of these BETTER be ADDED. I don't give a shit what day
In regards to Comedians of Comedy: is anyone really that stoked to stand / sit around and listen to jokes? I think they are damn funny and all, but I just see it as a waste of time when you could be getting your rave, rock, hip-hop, party on to great music. Im not bashing, just seems kinda... boring.
i hate stand up
as predicted by nostradamus
you should start laughing now.
as an aside, this "most people think friday has the strongest line up" just does not hold up against ticket sales, which ARE a definite barometer for the public's interest in the line up. I, personally, think that I'd skip work/school/finals/weddings/funerals/what-the-hell-ever to see a line up i really wanted to see. Like I said before, I don't care if there are adds or not (i'll see you all at Of Montreal, Gogol Bordello and JAMC with a huge-ass grin on my face). But the lack of ticket sales speaks volumes.
No. You fail sir. I did say Friday had a lot of quality acts. However, it just does not stand up to the other days.
Friday, I am not that worried about conflicts. The only conflict I have is if Gogol Bordello and Peeping Tom are playing at the same time. I will be pissed off if that happens. Other then that, I will check out as many artists as I can, and probably stay longer at some artists then others.
Sunday, conflicts are going to suck... but I will be damned if I miss one minute of Rage's set. And Sunday has tons of interesting acts to check out. Manu Chao, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Willie Nelson, Placebo, Infected Mushroom, Crowded House, EITS, Konono No.1, The Roots, Against Me! as well as a few others I wont mind checking out.
Saturday is the day I am most scared about for conflicts. I have this feelings MSTRKRFT, Justice, The Rapture, The Good The Bad and The Queen, LCD Soundsystem and Red Hot Chili Peppers will ALL overlap each other at some point during the night. I will be doing a lot of running around.
Also, as pointed out, the publics interest sure isnt that high for Fridays line up. Tickets are going for below face value on ebay. That is why I think Friday will have 1 or 2 big additions.
I just cannot see additions this late in the game. I hate to be the pessimist. I was pushing for Portishead for as long as my small amount of common sense would let me, but alas, 'tis the end. Goddamn, am I excited, though.
i'll hold my breath for portishead till i'm blue in the damned face. i'm sure next year is a far better bet.. but goddamn it... i have tickets THIS YEAR. also, would you PLEASE get bowie already? :P
Dave Wang says "Hope for additions is Dead".
If everyone hasn't seen the hints dropped by the somewhat in the know psychic friend, additions are very unlikely. I'm glad Friday isn't sold out - it'll be less crowded!
IMHO, the 3 day pass sellout pretty much killed any incentive Golden Voice had to add bands to sell tickets. So what if Friday isn't sold out - 90% of the tickets for that day were sold as part of 3 day passes!
Sunday and 3 day tickets sold out for one HUGE reason - at the time, RATM was only playing Coachella. Since then, they have announced other dates. If they had announced other dates in January/February, I bet the show wouldn't have sold out (just as in previous years).
You are smoking crack if you think Golden Voice will add bands to "thank" those who have already bought tickets. They are a business, not some charity. On this gig, GV and corporate parent Anschutz Entertainment Group made big money! The fact that AEG made it off of the backs of left wing, anti-corporate RATM is so ironic, it's unbelievable!![]()

My favorite band is cooler than your favorite band.
