This is really interesting, as it is the same weekend as FYF.

Carnival rides!!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Interesting....
I think all but a couple of the acts on this poster I'd want to see I either saw at Coachella or would be able to see at FYF while also seeing MBV, TVOTR, and a couple others. And $150 for Passion Pit as a headliner?
The really exciting thing to me about this is I have some hope for an August Hold Steady date in SoCal now!
Easily the most trash lineup of the year
Pshhh I knew Modest Mouse was available for FYF~!
ps Is there a festival where Father John Misty won't play?
Folk/Yeah helped with booking the lineup.

This is not going to sell well, is it?
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
Hard to say. They probably just have to get 10,000-15,000 a day to call it a sold out show.

It's proximity to OSL and the relative difficulty of staying in Monterey makes me think that this isn't going to be a smashing success.

I wonder what they identified as the market opportunity here. FYF and OSL have a lot of cross-over and are much easier to get to then this. And, oh yeah, they're both within 3 weeks of this and one is the same weekend.
FYF also, arguably, has a more impressive lineup and is $50 cheaper.
Between Monterey & Santa Cruz, as well as the draw from the South Bay/Morgan Hill/Gilroy, I'm sure they'll be fine.
Jeff Goldblum for main stage 2012.
2011 Perfectchella.
I guess the only thing I can say about this lineup is I'm glad they didn't get a token rap group
Nice poster. That's about it.

I just noticed that this is a Goldenvoice event, which is especially interesting considering it's the same weekend as FYF
5/11/12 - Cloud Cult - El Rey // 5/23/13 & 5/24/13 - Boris - Echoplex // 6/7/13 + 6/8/13 - Jubilee Music Festival
6/9/13 - Devo/GZA - Natural History Museum // 6/11/13 - Bjork - Hollywood Bowl // 6/21/13-6/23/13 - Solid Sound Music Festival - MASS MOCA

Seems like a TI lineup if it targeted indie folk crowd. If TI doesn't sell out until week of in a bigger market with comparable lineup, not sure how this will unless the community really gets behind this.
I don't have a problem with the lineup, i cant go, but if i was, it has enough on there that I could find plenty of options.
I don't think the location is a problem as much as the timing. There were several successful music events at Laguna Seca in the 80's and 90's and the population in that area has only grown since then. If, they're shooting for 10-15 thousand, they might do okay. A lot is going to depend on how they promote it.
This is only 30 minutes from me, so I'm definitely attending. I love the downtown scene in Monterey, so can't wait to party after the show.

Didn't the festival bubble pop a few years ago? I think it needs to pop again.
