What are the best canopies to bring to Coachella?

The canopies I bring always seem to be to flimsy for the harsh winds at Coachella. What are some brands/models that are sturdy and reliable. Also what is the best way to stake them down? Or is there a better method then stakes that I am unaware of? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm making my own this year out of PVC pipe and using reflective tarps. A 20 ft x 10 ft can be done for $80 - $150 depending on how sturdy you want it to be

my ma purchased a caravan canopy about 10 years ago and it still works great1 heavy as anything but best to secure with weights as chances of having stakes confiscated are dependent upon when you get in line to get searched for camping.

There are other ways to hold down a canopy. Try weighing it down by tying a rope or bungee with something heavy (cooler, sandbag, etc.) to the side legs. Also, see if your neighbors want to tie canopies together. We zip tied our 4 together along with our neighbors. Much harder to blow over. Or, try lowering all the legs part way or all of the way before you head into the venue for the day. Less likely to catch wind and blow over.

Big 5 and other sporting good stores sell conpy weights that don't use stakes or hammers....they work perfect, they're cheap.

Yeah last year we had two canopies tied together, and tied to the cars as well as staked down. We also lowered them half way once the winds started to pick up. Best move ever. While all our neighbors' campsites were getting raped by wind we were sitting pretty. We actually kept them lowered for a while as kind of a private little bungalow situation. It was nice.

I have a coleman ez up with LED lighting system. it worked so well last year that I bought another one for this year

Damn guys thanks for all the help! I was thinking of buying the Coleman with the led lights as well. I have a van so its hard to lower the one that is placed over it, but this year I'm strapping it down to the van for sure. The other one I always lower. Thanks for all the help and ideas!
