I would bactually be mad if a "good" headliner was added to Friday or Saturday. There's already going to be so many conflicts as it is, and besides I think Blur and Phoenix are good headliners.

"Sunday needs the most work. If they add someone it should be to Sunday and I would say Tool. Maynard is there anyway so his BS wine-tending absence theory is out. We already know Tool is playing Ozzfest Japan, so it's not like they refuse to do any shows this year. They are an LA band so they shouldn't be too tough to book. I say end the festival with Tool / RHCP allowing the first two third-time headliners on the same night (and both LA based bands). It wouldn't even take up that much space on the poster, which I'm sure is their primary concern."

As much as I would love to see Daft Punk get added to saturday night, I just don't see it happening. Due to their Demand, Daft Punk would have to play to a slient polo grounds, yet thats impossible considering curfew and the shear volume of bands on the poster.

What about Frusciante reuniting with RHCP for the final 2 shows at coachella? Would that be completely out of the realm of possibility?

Stone Roses debut is a top 75 all time lock. I personally like it better than White Album Abbey Road and most overrated album in rock history Sgt Peppers, but not as much as Rubber Soul or Revolver. Regardless of where it stacks up vs. Beatles fact that were even having this discussion supports its status as a true classic.

You guys have got it all wrong. They should be looking for a Saturday headliner. Phoenix should not be headlining Coachella. I'm glad they are in a way, because I won't have to spend much of my day camping out at the main stage like I did the past 2 years for Radiohead and Arcade Fire.

And the Chili's are sloppy 2nd's from last years festivals (Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo). Not Sunday headliner worthy.

To me Blur is the most interesting headliner they booked this year. If they added a late headliner, I would hope it would be for Saturday or Sunday instead. On Saturday, I could see them throwing New Order in the late night special spot they have reserved for EDM groups like Tiesto, Chemical Brothers and Swedish House Mafia over the past 3 years.

To those who say Queens of the Stone Age isn't worthy of a headlining slot at a major US festival, think again. No band deserves it more in my opinion.

I have no doubt they were asked just like many of the listed bands, but an act releasing material around the time of Coachella does make a lot of sense. this whole thread is just wishful thinking, no ones getting added

They may be releasing material around the time of Coachella, but the band certainly would have known that before turning them down. The last time they released an album, they waited a year to tour (debuting at Coachella). Once the album is done, they still have to work on a live mix, talk with concept artists and lighting artists, actually build the set, rehearse, etc. They aren't ready. If they were, it sounds like they'd be on the poster.

Except for this is the best overall lineup since I've been going (2009 was my first year). Seeing Paul McCartney was great, but I'd put Stone Roses debut up against any Beatles record. I'm beyond excited to see them finally. I'm also in my late 30s. I understand how kids in their late teens/early 20's who've been catered to with the likes of MGMT, Guetta, SHM, etc in the past few years could think this year's billing is weak.

Not gonna happen. Coachella 2013 is a sell out. If Coachella needs to sell tickets and get the Coachella brand back up to where it was years ago they will get real headliners and it will once again be a sell out. Pre-Sale was the smartest thing they ever did.

The likelihood of a last minute headlining addition is NIL. Why? They've made their money already, why would they pay another headliner once the venue is sold out? Just to be nice to the fans?

Coachella has future ticket sales to think about, and if the other fest lineups come out and coach looks stupid people wont buy presale next year and they will think less of Coachella in general.

Coachella's reputation is worth far more than any one years ticket sales.
