its funny, after all of these years i just watched the such great heights video. at first it hit me...holy shit thats the robot i work on! and then the rest of the video went on to show many aspects of my job at the semicon fab. only we wear ninja hoods and hospital masks, we NEVER EVER EVER touch the wafers, and there is absolutely no slow motion implied romanticism. and all the women are 40 and korean.

I just watched it on their Coachella YouTube channel. They have at least three songs on there.

They were just amazing. I loved every second, highlight of my Saturday.

Jenny Lewis was awesome. My friends and I were in back and couldn't tell, but I was sure it was her.

"Nothing Better" was the shit. So emotional.

Sacrificed Spiritualized but damn they were good. They made that album sound as live as you can get. Jenny was stunning!

After all these years, "Nothing Better" was EXACTLY how I imagined it would be. This show was legendary.

I always seem to have one band that makes me cry at Coachella, The Postal Service are the ones that got me this year. Their set was mostly a joyous sing along but of course they busted out my favorite song, Clark Gable, and a shit ton of age old emotions came flooding out of my face. What a release. Also, I love Jenny Lewis to bits, so glad she was there! One of my favorite sets all weekend!

This set was gorgeous. The sound, the energy level, the crowd, everything. Perfect on the main.

So this is the 8th straight year I've gone to Coachella and this will go down as one of my favorites that I've seen over these 8 years. Part of that is on me, like a lot of people who have said similar above, I was just shocked at how well they pulled this off live. To be fair, I went in completely ignorant of how they had been touring, to the point where I was even somewhat surprised Jenny Lewis was up there singing (count me among those who went nuts when she sang her first line in "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight"). The energy that brought out of an album that desn't really have much to offer in that category was fantastic, they really got everything they could out of the material to make for an interesting live show. Maybe it's that so often reunion shows are disappointments to me, maybe its that has been a while since I listen to Death Cab, maybe I just thought they would be boring live, whatever it was, it was my favorite set of the weekend and something Ill remember for a long time. I'll brag to people about having been at this set.

So I was at Simian Mobile Disco and don't regret seeing them one bit, but I just watched a 1080p video of the Postal Service set and I must say, it sounded really great. I was kinda down on them after seeing a few terrible performances by them 10 years ago...but they killed it. Happy for everyone who was really excited for this show cuz they totally came through! ;-)

While I was waiting for The Postal Service, my girlfriend told me she wanted to leave halfway through the set to see SMD and I agreed. We wound up being stuck in the wake of just how good The Postal Service was live. One of my favorite sets of the festival ever

I had 3 Brits with me who were not familiar with TPS. They all thanked me for the introduction. I was disappointed they didn't play Natural Anthem Aside from that it was brilliant.

They're coming to San Diego in July and I can't wait to see them again! Only weird thing is that they are gonna be w/ Big Freedia (WTF)...

also Baths, but I see much more of a similarity with that than Big Freedia. Still gonna be an awesome show nonetheless!
