I just highly doubt Japandroids will play that late at all. I mean, they could play the Gobi or Mojave around the time you have them... I just don't see it happening. They don't even bring lights a long with them when they tour (at all, they just use house lights. Seriously). I think they will either play around the same time on the Outdoor as Titus Andronicus, or in the mojave around the same time as Murder City Devils/ X.

So if we move passion pit to the main, which I think they will have to play due to their inexplicable popularity, but then who plays the outdoor at night?
8/20 SISU and Tanlines @ Sayers Club, 8/21 The Zombies @ Santa Monica Pier, 8/23-24 FYF Fest, 9/10 Swans @ Roxy, 9/18 Neutral Milk Hotel & Daniel Johnston @ Hollywood Bowl, 9/19 Tokimonsta @ El Rey, 9/30 Cibo Matto @ the Roxy, 10/3-4 Desert Stars, 10/9 Zola Jesus @ El Rey, 10/16 Massive Attack @ Greek Theater, 10/22-25 CMJ, 10/26 Asobi Seksu & Slowdive @ Royale

    I hope it's the Mojave.

I saw Passion Pit in the middle of the afternoon at Osheaga this summer, I definitely see them playing earlier on the main stage.

I had a mock-up yesterday that had Modest Mouse on the outdoor between Stone Roses and Blur. Not wedded to it, but it seems plausible.

    How about Metric?
Or you could just swap Passion Pit and Jurassic 5

i just went through and did my schedule from those mocks. saturday is a total clusterfuck at night.

    friday is pretty perfect.

and i agree with switching passion pit with J5 instead of MM.

I don't see anyway of scheduling Saturday to where it doesn't end up as a massive clusterfuck with most people. I still think The Violent Femmes could end up playing during the day like James, Firehose and The Buzzcocks last year and that would solve at least one problem.

yeah, i was imagining the femmes on the main earlier in the day. not necessarily ideal but i think they could pull a big crowd early.

It also would be a good way to showcase the reunion as opposed to having them play against several other bigger acts Saturday night.

I honestly could see Femmes on outdoor/Mojave during the afternoon. They don't need to play at night, and their crowd will be dedicated but it's not like it will be gigantic.

I hope they don't repeat the YYYs vs X total overlap like in 2009.

BTW, Stars were on the main stage last time they played.

I like the idea of the Femmes in the mojave/ on the Outdoor during the day (ie. sometime between 4-sunset) but I hate the idea of them playing the mainstage.

So have we all agreed that the new stage will indeed have dance music, not hip-hop?

Since Clumsy is taking the year off and this thread is the only thing that keeps me sane during the last few months leading into April, I decided to contribute. I took Boourns’ set time predictions from today and made a Photoshop template for this year’s thread. I can start the new thread and make updates as they are suggested, or I can get the files to someone else with the alacrity to run with it. Let me know!

    Japandroids vs. Grinderman seems unlikely.

Yeah, I think so. There is an inordinately larger amount of EDM/dance acts this year, and the acts for every other genre seem comparable to past years.

Local Nateves vs Band of Horses and Modest Mouse vs Beach House would kill me. I would probably switch metric and Modest Mouse. I just cant see MM on the Main. They're perfect for the outdoor

Looks really good, autopsy! Of course I agree with some that there are changes to be made, but the image looks good...

My guess is yes, and I'm tempted to say it will be mostly silent for The Stone Roses too...with an act in between the two headliners.
