yeah i tried making predictions with the current stages and realized that it would not work at all, so i guess the new stage is 'confirmed' by logic.

Really curious to see where they put it. Something similar in size and location to the 2011 dome makes some sense. But there were quite a few complaints about it if I remember correctly.

Who is familiar with electronic artists? Can we get a list of which acts are a) indisputably dance tent acts, and b) which are maybe marginal (like a TNGHT, Four Tet, etc), so we can start to see if there are enough for two dance tents to be running? While I initially thought the new tent was definitely going to be electronic based, xanman's set times have convinced me that there has to be an overflow of non-EDM acts onto the new stage, unless we are throwing Band of Horses, Metric, Local Natives sized bands on at 2:30/3:00 or so. For example, every single act on the first four lines of Friday is big enough for the Mojave, and I only count 3 Sahara acts on that line. That is sheer insanity.

I can't help myself. It's dancehall for white dudes, but it is my guilty pleasure. I'd be there except for the fact that if they come on anytime after 4:00, I know there will be something else better to see. To be honest, based on low billing and the fact that they were in the Mojave not Sahara last time, I'm hoping for daytime Mojave party so I can see them guilt free before the post 5:30 juggernaut rolls in. And I remember people thinking Saturday last year was stacked because they were worried one of FlyLo/Godspeed/Mangum/Radiohead might conflict over a five hour span...this is a whole new level of madness.

Might be a silly question, but is the rose garden a permanent feature? If it is not, could they just cram one more tent in line with the rest?

ahh, thanks for the answer Never did more than look in the general direction. Didn't someone mention some area (possibly newly acquired) behind the outdoor stage?

Yeah, supposedly there was some talk of land to the right being used to expand the festival grounds, but I believe its only being used to expand some parking for RV's/trailers for artists.

I definately think New Order has been downgraded from a main stage act, but I can see them playing in the Outdoor Theatre around the same time as madness.

Sorry - I apologize in advance. What is this about a "new" tent? Where would it go exactly? Would this mean they are getting rid of some of the art installations? I just don't want it to affect the sound of the Outdoor stage (which already has the most problems in my opinion).

And I know this sounds insane but for some reason I feel like Hot Chip might go on after Phoenix. I know they aren't given that placement on the poster - I dunno...that was my knee jerk reaction when I saw Saturday's line up which is totally insane. Or maybe all headliners are going on a little later this year and Hot Chip into Phoenix.

Who the hell knows with that Saturday line up. It's too nuts.

Lou Stone Roses Blur three of biggest gets of festival they will not play against each other. Lou gets coveted Sunset Slot on Outdoor at 7ish witb empty main just likd Cohen. One of yeah yeahs yeahs or modest mouse plays prior on main. Other closes outdoor head to head versus Blue.
