So, discussing how many people may show up to see their Coachella headlining set is pointless, but constantly referencing how tickets are selling for a concert a week before in Mexico City has merit. I see....

    valid question.

Mexico ticketmaster have the fully interactive seat maps(SR public onsale is Friday) that can give a far more accurate idea of crowd size than anything anybody here can predict about the crowd size at Coachella before showtime. Talking about Mexico actually adds something constructive to the conversation. If it sells like the 2012 Pulp show(18K) then it's impossible to say that SR are irrelevant for drawing crowds in North America.

Does GV have some facebook "likes" function for acts on the lineup?

Apparently the per show guarantee for SR in 2012 was a million pounds, which is about USD$1.5m.

Potential logical flaw: assuming that because Mexico City and Indio are both in North America, there is some sort of rational relationship between the number of people who buy tickets to attend a particular band's Mexico City concert versus the number that chose to attend the band's set -- from among others -- at a sold out music festival held in Indio.

Stone Roses don't even have three tolerable songs, and you're going to try scrounging up over sixty? Stupidstupidstupid.

Never heard of this band until Coachella announced the line-up.. I'm actually floored at how good they are.

Sex Pistols did their first proper tour of North America in 1996. About 20 years removed from their lone game changing album.

They only did about 10 US shows in 1978.

If you don't like them, why do you keep on looking and posting comments on this Stone Roses Thread? Maybe in fact you are a secret lover!

That song is actually listenable. At least you're attempting to do this thread justice.

I'm making the trip from NYC specifically for this. I never thought I'd get to see the Roses play live in my life and I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting for April. They may well end up playing a gig here in NYC but the chance to see them in the California desert was too good an opportunity to pass up. Growing up in Ireland and traveling to Manchester regularly to watch football (soccer) these guys made up a significant part of the soundtrack to my teenage years. For those worrying about a possible lack of energy during their set, don't.

    Is it April yet?

At least 8,000 tickets left for the Mexico arena show, not counting behind the stage. Are these 3 shows it for spring 2013 on this continent?

    http://www.krassycandoit.com/blah/20...-invasion.html
Also, in 2004 Ian Brown started his Inland Invasion gig with 5 straight 80's Stone Roses songs to mixed reaction.

Didn't really read a negative review there. Sure it said Ian's voice wasn't like it was decades ago. It happens to all of us ya know, getting older. I would die if I could see the Kinks again but would old Dave and Ray sound the same. Time changes everything. I haven't seen SR and I am looking forward to seeing them....btw, 2004, they could be lots better or lots worse in 8 years. cr****

Well done CSC - that's a legendary Roses clip, classic and typical Ian Brown.

I've seen Mr Broon playing solo a few times and his vocal was absolutely diabolical so it was with not a little trepidation I went to Heaton Park last summer to witness 'the 3rd coming'. Pleased to report his voice was just fine and the band were phenomenal.

The Stone Roses. Those who understand need no explanation. Those who dont understand dont matter.

I hadn't listened to this band since probably like 2003 until tonight and I don't remember Second Coming being so much better than The Stone Roses. Seriously, that album is a snoozefest compared to the former.

A little trivia about that song: Elephant Stone was produced by Peter Hook.

Coachella have made the best decision ever by booking the greatest band in the world. I have been to festivals, concerts and gigs all over the world and let me tell you, I went to Heaton Park last June and it was by far the best event I have ever been too. The Stone Roses were absolutely amazing and will blow everyone away at Coachella, mark my words guys you are all in for a real treat!

^You should be bitch slapped for saying something so ignorant. I really think you newbie clowns are at the wrong concert! Please do the rest of us a favor, and go to Weenie Roast or EDM and quit clogging up Coachella! This is not the event for you nerds! If you knew anything about Coachella or Goldenvoice for that matter you would understand why the The Stone Roses have every right to be here, and to be headlining! Only a few of us have gone to Coachella every year since 1999! And we know what this concert was built on and why it has become the most important and talked about music fest in North America. Coachella did what no other Festival had done here. They brought classic, mostly British Indie, Punk, Synth, or Manchester Legends to play to large California crowds in a truly unique setting such as The Polo Grounds. If you don't believe me go do some homework on the early years of Coachella and who was playing . You will see that it was heavily based on English Indie, and Classic Punk Rock and New Wave and electronic. Goldevoice finally is getting back to it's musical roots, and going back to the music that made this event what it is today. So all you kids that were in diapers when this Festival first started need to shut your lil' mouths, open your ears and minds and wise the fuck up! Nuff said.
