Although a lot of what's been said on this thread makes sense and does give ground to a 'great purge,' Why would they attempt such a thing in their second year of their double weekend venture? It doesn't exactly fit the business model. As of right now, weekend two has not sold out, which by last year it had been. Do you think GV realized two weekends was a mistake and this being their first attempt at scaling back? But then, why would they after last year was such a success?

Yes because something not selling out within 7 hours of going on sale means it's a complete failure.

It's not a question of failure, but of demand.

This. Stage hopping and getting a decent view would be nice.

I think you guys are not only overestimating the effect the lineup will have in 2013 but also underestimating the amount of people who will be there just to chill poolside and get hammered at the Sahara no matter who's playing.

    A whole lot.

Still, I think most of the people who bought tickets during the pre-sale who are bitching right now are just upset because they're not getting Daft Punk, the Rolling Stones, or whatever other big name they'd hoped for. Most will still end up going just to be at Coachella. The festival is about more than just music to most people who attend, and I think we're only going to see a "purge" of the whole "bro scene" if the lineup continues to push further outside of the mainstream for the next couple years.

I think people are highly overinvested in the idea that people don't know who Blur are. They may be a one-hit-wonder to most, but they exist.

Just like you're overinvested in the idea of bonerstock, or woodychella.

I think i maybe getting jealous of weekend 2 people. I have a feeling the crowd weekend 2 is going to be amazing and weekend 1 will be full of people complaining about the dance music since there is nothing the likes of sonicc's SHM.

Yeah I saw both of those comments too. Lol. Exactly the type of people I'm glad I won't bumping into come weekend 2. What a relief. I bet most of those idiots don't even understand that this lineup is actually more true to past lineups, as opposed to an edm brofest.
