Yeah. James McCartney is pretty fucking bad.
FOUR TET. HOT CHIP. SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO. BOOKA SHADE. LEE SCRATCH PERRY. BEACH HOUSE.
Richie Hawtin. James Blake. Loco Dice.
The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, and Alex Clare are my least favorites on this lineup. Not really finds though, just shit I hear too much on KROQ
I thought Modestep was a secret new project by Modeselektor. Jesus Christ, was it not. So horrible.
For your health
And Danny Avila is the worst thing on this lineup.
Not listening to KROQ, I don't really understand all the derisive Alex Clare hate. The IE9 commercial gets annoying, okay I get that, but that ain't the dude's fault. I listened to his album a couple of times when that commercial first came out and it seemed pretty good to me. Not anything I felt the need to go back to, but it was an enjoyable listen and more importantly it was somebody doing quasi-dubstep with actual musical elements to it. Singer songwriter dubstep. Felt like a positive direction for an utterly shitty genre to go in.
Don't bag on one guy who's actually trying to write lyrics worth half a shit to go over his beats just because you're a bunch of assholes who actually listen to the radio in 2013.
Those of you hating on James McCartney do realize he's PAUL MCCARTNEY'S son, right? I know hes not Paul, but he couldn't have fallen that far from the tree. Surely not the worst thing on this lineup.
Actually, I take that back. The thread title states "2013 - Worst find so far."
2013's worst find thus far is themule.
Lumineers and Monsters and Men sound like cheap rip offs of good music we were listening to ten years ago.
Monsters and Men are actually a guilty pleasure for me.... prefer them over Mumford and the Lumineers. Ed Sharpe is still the best though.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
It's like listening to Blink 182 having already grown up on Descendants
The Lumineers song on the radio reminds me of those NorCal to Portland drum circle bands like Port O'Brian and such.
James McCartney should debut his new band, "Wyngz".
northside groove...southside groove....eastside groove...westside groove
I thought this shit was pretty awful!!
