Brand new Hudson Mohawke remix of fellow Coachella artist, Disclosure:

I like the EP but I listened to the mix linked above and what exactly is the difference between this mix and the generic mixes played on every hip hop stationing every city southeast of St. Louis on Saturday nights. This is far from revolutionary just because its being played in a venue that white people are comfortable being in.
HAHA first of all TNGHT are the ones pioneering this new trap sound. Secondly TNGHT and this whole trap movement is mainly driven by white kids. Their sound is unique and differs from Bauuer and others. I dont know what they play near St Louis buuuut Im loving this trap movement!

You sound pretty ignorant here.
I agree that their "mission statement" mix is pretty run of the mill, but their original productions far exceed the production quality of a southern rap mixtape. Furthermore, both Hudson Mohawke and Lunice have been DJing the fest/rave circuit for some time, so they bring that knowledge and experience to their live sets. What is different about TNGHT and the trap scene in general is the focus on instrumentals which do not require, nor necessarily accommodate a lyricist, but stand on their own.
That said, the highest echelon of rap producers approach TNGHT's production values (Just Blaze, Clams Casino, SpaceGhostPurpp, Araabmuzik, etc), but I prefer TNGHTs songwriting style because they are influenced by some of my favorite genres (dubstep, electro house, grime, drum n bass, juke, uk funky)
Go to Raider Klan's set and then go to TNGHT's set and you will understand the differences.
DRUGS ON KIDS
Definitely hope they stick to a lot of TNGHT (or either of their solo) tracks.
TNGHT is dope ass fuck, but I am inclined to agree that this shit has been put out by other hip hop producers(southern hip hop producers with the fat drops, and people like Just Blaze, Swizz Beats, and older ruff rider compilations from DMX's camp). I can hear DMX murdering some of these tracks. This is a natural progession of the sound filtered through a DJ whose main emphasize is electronic sounds.

Of course it has. Trap music was invented in the south thru rap. It is now forming into a different sound with electronic being in the forefront. I think TNGHT are unique with their sound. That weird horn sound and the HEAVY HEAVY lower end bass only drops just get people moving in a new way.

TNGHT is dope, but it is not unique at all. The guys got themselves some bangers, and I look forward to what they come up with next, but it's not original at all. Trap music in general actually.
what i think some people are trying to get at is that they're sound is much different, not talking about the same genre because we know the dirty south has been doing it forever, but compared to other trap artists right now they have a more unique sound and more complete tracks, i mean hud mo has been killing it in the edm world for a while, and when you combine that talent with lunice's swag(i apologize for using swag) it's just a perfect combination.
