really stupid keeps seeing this. people just don't grasp it, they didn't agree to do it until right before they were announced, most probably due to plans to not return that early etc but it was months and months before that that they were in talks.

Blur and The Stone Roses were very much planned like that, the web had talked about especially Blur getting a head slot for a long time, they were also due to swap round which they did the following weekend, only thing was The Roses set was short than Blur's, guess it's not a big issue but if they play a 10 minute song it was, just leave it out.

I'd imagine the plan was to have The Rolling Stones headline saturday with Pheonix as a sub. I've no doubt that the fest knows putting Blur and The Roses on different days wouldn't be a good move, at least the same day, it's gone and over with and you don't have to make the choice again

also just to put it ou tthere, there is info here in the uk that Depeche Mode may not be ready to play Glasto as they are rumoured for that which I'd imagine puts Coachella out.

get your Mumford & Sons, Arcade Fire and NIN's penciled in haha

Well they are all but confirmed for Lollapalooza Chile and Brazil which takes place just a few weekends before Coachella, so I wouldn't rule them out for Coachella.

    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

    3 BANDS. ALL AWESOME.

What about Kraftwerk? Can they fit as a headliner now? Because I would like that. Maybe playing with NIN or something like that.

The Stone Roses theory is the leap year of Coachella. We'll all be bitching about a new president the next time we get a Stone Roses headliner at Coachella.

One of those people is an automatic headliner. The other band will have to settle for being shitty and opening for Bowie.

I reeeeaaally think Avicii has a reeeeaally good chance of closing out the main after a headliner this year, especially since this Wake Me Up song probably won't go away until 4 or 5 months from now.

And Coachella is 7 months from now, so I like that logic.

promoter for big day out was quoted as saying that the arcade fire aren't going to focus on US festivals..instead will do arena shows..plus its too early for them to headline again..i mean..i'd totally welcome it..but 3 years is too soon

With their new song, doesn't Arcade Fire/David Bowie headlining seem plausible?

Yes. Because of having a song.

    9/12: Shifted @ Mercer
    9/24 - 28: Decibel Festival
    10/3-5: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival
    10/4: Ought @ BoH
10/5: The War on Drugs, Cass McCombs @ The Fillmore
    10/18-19: Treasure Island Music Festival

I would bet a David Bowie/Tin Machine line-up would be more probable than an Arcade Fire/David Bowie line up at this point. The fact that David Bowie has been--reportedly--to have, nervously, said he might consider doing a few shows does show promise.

No cheesy EDM producer / DJ closed out the main stage this year. I hope that trend continues.
10/8 - Little Dragon @ Marquee (Tempe, AZ)
10/11 - Carolina Chocolate Drops @ Rialto Theater (Tucson, AZ)
11/10 - The Black Keys @ US Airways Center (Phoenix, AZ)
    4/10/15 - 4/12/15 - Coachella
