I really think MGMT will be the "not a headliner" band next year. If Daft Punk is booked, no one will complain. If not, Eminem goes to saturday and MGMT headlines Friday by themselves and the boards have a meltdown.

I know I'm a few posts late, but I'd heard about the Oasis reunion as well, and now that's all I'll be thinking about until further notice. -_-
As much as I'd love for them to headline... I don't see it happening. That being said, I would travel long a distance and fork over some serious dough if they played Definitely Maybe in it's entirety (elsewhere)!!! My favorite album of theirs!

Be Here Now in 2017 would be a close second.

I love a few tracks off of Morning Glory, but I'm sick of Wonderwall...... -_- That album in 2015 would be my 3rd preference, I guess.

2 brothers = "reunion"? I take it no one is expecting "Bonehead & friends".

Please tell us more about who you're positive is playing next year. We are collectively on the edge of our seats.

Queens of the Stoneage just scored their first number 1 album in the States, they have enough material and hits to warrant a "weak" headliner slot not to mention that they haven't played Coachella since '03(?)

I think you missed my point. I was saying that Beck would share a top line with a headliner that was outside of the traditional Coachella brand or someone that may piss off that core Coachella customer that has been going for years.

I wasn't trying to say that JT wasn't a big name headliner. Kanye is bigger than JT, but he shared a top line with The Strokes.

Sub even seems high, but I guess that could happen. 0% chance they headline though.

No way The Knife is a subheadliner, pull your head out of your ass and assign someone more accessible....yeah, The National can fill that spot

If there's 3 or more second-liners like the past few years, The Knife would go there.

I'm a fan of all 3, but there's far too much genre/demographic overlap here. Those 180,000 passes won't sell themselves.

Also remember that QOTSA accepted a booking to headline Squamish festival near Vancouver. Maybe 16-18,000, with Vampire Weekend headlining the other night. Vampire got 3rd billing for Sunday Coachella 2013.

Wasn't the Kanye/Strokes billing more to do with Bonnaroo 2008/Swift fallout rather than genre stereotypes?

Liam would insist on main stage, even if it were 3rd or 4th that day.

Robbie has been photographed a couple times on the polo grounds as an attendee. Must be UK papparazzi that spot him.

Pumpkins don't seem willing to accept such billing. 50 minute sets by National/QOTSA/Pumpkins would be pointless.
