    Default Dead Can Dance!

So thrilled that they'll finally grace the polo fields. One of my favorite bands ever, who thankfully reunited this last year (missed them on their last reunion tour in 2005) and I finally got to see back in August. Sadly I'll just say I had a horrible day when I saw them, which sort of ruined the whole experience for me. But I'm filled with joy that I'll get a chance at redemption and see them again. I suggest all you do the same too. Hopefully they bring back a few more hits into the setlist for festival season though.

Everyone at Coachella this year needs to see this performance. Hopefully they'll get a good slot in one of the tents.

Sad thing is I bet nobody going to Coachella even knows who they are....oh well, less people at their set means I can get front row.

Yea...this is a big deal. I'm selfishly looking forward to an empty tent for their set.

I know who they are but I do need to do some research. I remember The Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove being played in the radio way back when.

It's sad in a way. But then again Coachella is a place for people to expand their musical lexicon. I didn't know about them. But with research comes waves of great music.

Their new album is great though. My favorite song off it (hopefully we get it live):

If there's one set I record all weekend, it'll be them for sure. I just hope they pull out some more hits for a festival set...American Dreaming, Black Sun, Severance, Rakim, Kingdom of the Blind (yeah right), How Fortunate the Man with None (God I wish).

Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove was a key song for me for years but for some reason never checked out much of the rest of their catalogue. What to listen to?

Are these guys a Mojave act? For some reason I picture them in Leftfield's slot. Similar size crowd as well.

One of my top must sees for the festival. Saw them a short while back at the Gibson. Unbelievably beautiful show. I'm hoping to see Brendan do Song To The Siren again. And we didn't get American Dreaming off Toward the Within at the Gibson, so fingers crossed for that one. They'll be perfect in an evening slot on pretty much any stage.

It's 21 years since I've seen them live. Should be a great set.

I wouldn't get your hopes on this. I've been checking out their setlists and they're pretty stone similar to what they did on the tour last summer. But yeah, American Dreaming, Black Sun, The Carnival is Over, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, all would be awesome.

I hope so. They are no doubt on my "do not miss any of their set no matter what conflicts may exist" list, just like Leftfield was back in 2011.

It has been close to 20 years since I last saw them live, so I am really looking forward to this set. Last time I saw them was a very "fancy dress-up" affair, so I will be interested to see how they translate to the desert.
I hope to someday die of spontaneous human combustion, and in my final moments, I want to give each and every one of you a hug.

My number one set of the weekend. I'm so so excited to see them. I just hope they get a night slot and a stage with incredible sound.

I think this is the most anachronistic booking on the lineup. I'm an old 4AD kid, and love DCD but I can't imagine them set up in the Mojave at 4 or 5 trying to play 'Wind That Shakes The Barley' against a backdrop of the Do-Lab and whatever is going on in the Gobi. I think its going to be like when they had the Swell Season set up in a night Mojave slot a few years back, and it was just Glen up there with a guitar and nobody could hear anything because there was some crap band in the Sahara, Lightning Bolt in the Gobi, and that god awful reel-to-reel bus right behind the tent.

This was the set list at their last show. I realize they don't have that kind of time, but holy smokes, I'll take something along those lines. I think they might very well be my #1 anticipated act this year.

I'm hoping for a Sunday 2 hour close the Outdoor Theatre set kinda like Roni Size did back in 2009. Chances of that are slim too none but one can dream.

These guys have to be in a tent - there's going to be some soundbleed from the main if they get put on the Outdoor.

    Mojave or Gobi.
