I skipped to 20 mins into that post and its a wack ass remix of a 10 year old DP song played at about 120bpm. While this isn't trance, it is boring as shit.

Kept listening, 22-25 mins is a very restrained trance build with a trance drop at 27, keeps building, another trance drop at 28 mins. GTFO person who doesn't know what the fuck hes talking about. I dont know the EXACT bpm of this build or drop, but i would guess around 125, its hard to tell with all the swirling standard trancy bullshit going on.

Killing it with this 2013 Essential Mix -

I've been listening to this mix everyday i do cardio. The days I get a solid sweat going, it triggers that feeling of being in the sahara all hot and grimy. This essential mix is fire, and I see so much potential in this set. I expect this to be the set of the weekend, and probably the most talked about sahara set since dp.

I understand the urge to relate Prydz essential mix to ASOT but it is misguided.

Prydz mix has a foundation of solid house beats but during the breakdowns he lets the synths build into a trance-like crescendo only to drop back into that solid thumping rhythm. He doesn't allow the payoff most trance songs grant the listener on the drop, preferring to continue building the tension throughout the entire mix. There are occasional bursts of hard electro house and even progressive house bordering on trance, but the mix's strength lies in its restraint. These are the qualities that make for an amazing live show, so I am beyond excited for Prydz set at Coach.

(btw I am a big fan of Armin Van Buuren, his 9 hour set at TAO 08/09 is still my favorite event of all time, but he and Prydz are not alike)
