Having Prydz close the Sahara against RHCP was the absolute best. Sure, if Prydz played earlier, it probably would have been packed all the way to the beer gardens... however putting them against RHCP removed most (definitely not all) of the douches from the Sahara, and left it with a lot more people with a genuine love of dance music.

Walking over to Prydz from Wu Tang, I expected the Sahara to be overflowing. We walked in through the backside (beer gardens) and man, it was so comfortable. Dance room, little to no assholes and just a great vibe in general. I wish it was always like that, I'd visit the Sahara more often if it was. Only visit the Sahara twice; Moby and Prydz.

And Moby last night was a TRAINWRECK. His weekend one set seemed flawless. Did weekend two get shafted on EDM? Dog Blood and Hardwell killed them both sadly.

Umm, so On/Off mashed up with Laser Beams was one of my top moments of the weekend. Did he play that first weekend too?

Prydz weekend 1 was fucking fantastic. Not as much energy as, say, Hardwell or Moby but it was the ULTIMATE dance party. Everyone was at RHCP (too bad for them) so the Sahara tent felt like a dance floor rather than a mosh pit. I was about 20 feet from the front and had more than an arms length of room on all sides, just fantastic. Everyone was just there to dance and enjoy, no one came to blows, like at the beginning of Hardwell.

considering that Hardwell played twice as many songs, half of which were prerecorded mashups, in a set time that was 15min shorter makes it pretty obvious why there was more energy. He's all about quickly pounding through the hits (Greyhound, Years, Calling, Pursuit of Happiness, Put Your Hands Up for Detroit) and keeping the crowds attention. Seems to be working pretty well considering how popular he's become in the last few years.

Prydz on the other hand is about showcasing his own music/remixes and presenting them in a way that flows well and is perfectly executed. Unfortunately, this makes his sets a lot less consistent and can even be boring at times. Personally, i find his inconsistencies refreshing when compared to the run of the mill tracklists that most of the big djs tend to play now.

Lol. Look at this guy. "People are standing" so the set sucked. Just because Prydz doesn't pack his set with bro anthems, doesn't mean it wasn't any good.

He makes dance music I assumed. Apparently I was supposed to go for lazer beams and smooth transitions? You guys should have seen Disclosure .

And it cleared out even more about 15 minutes into the set when RHCP started and we had a great set with not too much crowding. Beautiful.

Although I am bitter you W2ers got Allein.

I REALLY liked his set, both weekends. To each their own, but I thought it was great. I would LOVE to see what he can do with a few hours.

I was looking forward to his set. I stuck around for 15 minutes and it was the most boring time I've heard in the Sahara tent. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I thought this year's Sahara lineup was one of the weakest in the 10 years I've been going.
