Feel horrible for you aswell. I am over it needed to vent. The line-up is pretty shallow.......... gonna be checking out a whole lotta bands that I would otherwise just walk right by. I still have Bassnectar, Puscifer, Pretty Lights, Wu-Tang, Descendents, Dropkick Murphys.............. and few others. Drugs and Sun will help.

brilliant undercards, like every year. it lacks a bit of a wow moment, but its really packed with tons of names, so all good
speaking of headliners, its the weakest in the history of this festival i think. both in terms of ticket selling power and creative booking.
but this is Coachella, so will go again, both weekends, as always

Just want it on record that this lineup blew me away. Haven't been this excited since 08 10. I agree with the whole headliner thing, although I think Friday couldn't be more perfect if you tried, also not really that surprised or angry about Phoenix headlining(IMHO the yyy should swap places with the XX or Grizzly Bear).

There are some very questionable arguments going on in this thread. Look, if the line up is not your taste, sell the damn ticket. If you're just venting then I can understand that as well. Every year its this same arguments over and over and over. its like the freaking twilight zone.

A lot of the complaining would go away if GV offered ticket buy backs like Glastonbury. They refund pre-sale buyers the ticket price minus 50 pounds($70ish) during a short block of time.

Selling your ticket is hardly an option if you don't live in a populated area of SoCal or neighboring states.

That said, I'm very happy with the acts booked. Just wish they could bump some inevitable conflicts over to the relatively barren Sunday.

Yes, yes, yes to all of this. Let people sell theirs back so I can snag a W1 GA pass. As you said, its sketchy trying to do buy one outside of SoCal.

But most importantly, I desperately hope they reschedule some acts. I just know there will be some extremely tough decisions Friday daytime and Saturday evening, followed by... well at least I'll get an early start recovering Sunday.

I’ll use the word disappointed only in comparison to their Fonda show, which I felt was way better that year. TeamCoachellaHellYeah just didn’t get it, which is unteachable.

Resale prices after the sell out at 10 pm will be the real test. After the "panic" stage when prices settle down again.

Bitching and moaning about shit headliners doesn't equate to saying Coachella is going to be awful. It just means the ceiling on the festival potential has been lowered, and that's a legitimate gripe.

GV agressively persued 3-4 "big fish" and struck out. What other festivals do will be a better gauge if 2013 is simply an odd year for headliners.

They should get the Beatles too, right? David Byrne said he has no interest in reuniting the Talking Heads. It's not gonna happen, he just doesn't like the rest of the band and has no interest in doing that.

Bruce Springsteen, sure. Repeat any other old headliner, fine (but they're doing that.) Daft Punk? Not touring, so it was never gonna happen? Bon Jovi? Go jump off a bridge.

Just out of curiosity, what headliner that is realistically available, at the current moment, could provide the party you are looking.

Daft Punk - Not ready. They are asked every year
David Bowie - Not ready, may never even perform live again
The Smiths - Publicly stated they turned down the festival
Talking Heads - David Byrne has said they have no interest
OutKast - Andre 3000 has been very public they are not reuniting anytime soon
Watch the Throne - Admittedly potentially plausible, if Kanye is doing shows right now.
The Rolling Stones - Depending on the source you believe, either not playing festivals at all or cost way too much money for GV to afford
U2 - See above, way too much money, do not do festivals outside of Glastonbury for a trillion reasons
Madonna - Bad history with Coachella, and really?
Justin Timberlake - Admittedly may or may not have been an option, no idea here

If you think the lineup sucks, don't go.

Pull out those credit cards and book Glastonbury, Ultra, Redding, or whatever suits you’re fancy. There have been plenty of people on this board who have done just that and without making a big issue about it.

And RHCP was absolutely not a better book than Neil Young. That said, Neil Young could not do his show in the time constraints provided to the average Coachella headliner. Neil is absolutely a better choice though, and I'm sure the Red Hots would agree with that estimation. However, RHCP would probably draw more people.

NY&CH played shows under 100 minutes in 2012 including some festivals. I think Neil actually did festival sets shorter than RHCP in 2012.

Switching the names/cc numbers on the form in a 3 way call with Goldenvoice/valley travel seems to work.

Otherwise you had to pick it up in Indio or have it sent to your house days before the festival regardless of your travel plans.
