This thread sucks.
Nothing. I think its pretty eclectic and strong. I don't get why they think Phoenix is headline worthy and it could use a few more DJs. But that's pretty much it. I just wanted to make a thread for complaints and a thread to praise

Phoenix won the coin toss over Vampire Weekend.
How did xx sneak in there so high and mighty?
It takes a fast car, lady,
To lead a double life.
I second this.
worst coachella ever. don't even want to go anymore.
You couldn't fuck up the headliners any worse if you tried. Other than that it's great though.
GV will be rolling in cash with all the savings on budgetchella headliners this year. Unless they have something of a David Bowie nature planned.

Who actually thought Phoenix was headline worthy? I waited impatiently through their fodder packed set in 2010 to Atoms For Peace who would have been much worthy as a headliner in 2013.
I love this lineup despite Sat and Sun headliners.

Thrilled that there is not a lot of crappy Djs (David Guetta anyone?), tired old hip hop, or shitty pop pretenders (thank god Timberlake wasn't invited). This lineup actually feels to me like GV takes its mission seriously: good music, for all times...
I think that must be the consensus. Good lineup overall. Crap headliners Sat/Sun (really, RHCP? Come on.) I think they should have taken some of the Saturday bands that will inevitably conflict and spread them to Sunday. Maybe New Order or Nick Cave could have headlined Sunday instead.
Take RHCP put and put EMINEM
I think it is pretty weak. A lot of the DJs that are not crappy are awesome, but play all the time. Love Maya Jane Coles, Disclosure, and Hawtin, but its not like they are rare acts. Excited for The Stone Roses, but shouldn't headline, RHCP doesn't even have John Frusciante, The XX are subheadliners? First two electronic names on Saturday are Knife Party and Benassi? There are definitely some awesome artists playing, but I don't understand how anyone thinks this is a great lineup compared to previous years...This will also be my 6th year, so I am not a "new" coachella goer, just stating my opinion.
It's too bad that there isn't an awesome headliner for us to have a huge party at -- but the undercard more than makes up for it. It's great to see this festival stick to its guns year after year.
I'm just curious about that one mind blowing act I've never heard of that is going to fuck us up while everyone is watching the chili peppers or something. Any ideas?

Love the lineup but RHCP are a fucking joke!
Since when was it just about the headliners ass hats? That seems to be the only thing you can complain about.
Because that is the only thing to complain about... and this is the complaint thread...
Last year was horrendous. Coachella hedged their bets with the two weekend thing by bringing in tons of cheesy edm. This year is pretty fucking amazing, who goes for the headliners anyway? I think the edm is top notch overall, but I don't live in a market that pulls good underground dj's often.
This lineup is god awful. The Knife? Fiona Apple? Atoms for Peace? Swans? MBV? GV really couldn't get any of them?
Red Hot Chili Peppers are a wet fart, but otherwise it is fantastic. GV seems to be placing a bet on Phoenix's new album blowing the fuck up when it's released, should it happen before Coachella. I figure that they'll be entertaining at least.
Can't book what is not available. Everyone thinks this shit is so easy, GV just asks and artists bow.
so strage...the bands are awesome overall, but blur and stone roses headlining kill it
Bowie or Outkast or D'Angelo or MBV or Fiona or maybe even have Moz play with Marr, and I would've been far more excited
Don't get me wrong, I see a lot of names I like. Just wish there was something that was going to blow me away.
No Godspeed You! Black Emperor?
Coachella veterano from '99 til infinity.
The only thing i don't really understand is New Order not headlining. If RHCP played across the street then I'd close the curtains but I expect to not care for at least one headliner. That's the way it goes.
My Bloody Valentine would've been nice but not worth creating a thread and crying over.
