]I'll never understand why or how someone who enjoyed Frances and called it their masterpiece became so lost during a live performance of said band and thusly gave up...shame. A shame you couldn't appreciate their music and come along for the ride that was "An Evening with The Mars Volta."

You are both confused...Mars Volta didn't play coach in '04. Sparta played main stage before the Pixies. Mogwai played a tent the next night.

I have seen them on point when they want to jam and it compliments the material, I was referring to every time they opened for someone and would just troll the audience. That's what it was, there was nothing competent about it. I have been to noise shows that made way more sense then one of their infamous jackoff sessions.
