+1 for Perfect Day, totally agree. The Hand That Rocks The Cradle and The Diamond Sea are great examples too. And ehh Zafocaine, Love Cats is a great song but the ending is nothing special.

Yes, because the ending of a song is important. Much like for a movie or a book. Beginnings aren't nearly as crucial to make a good song great.

We can't all pick A Day In The Life, eh? The intro to a song can be just as crucial as the ending. For me, a good song intro would be LA Woman by the Doors. I pick these songs because they have pieces that stand out to me. As someone who writes music, I have a certain taste when it comes to intros/outros. I find it interesting that you criticize peoples preferences as if they can in any way be incorrect lol

This reminded me of Science vs. Romance, which also has one of my favorite melodies. I love playing it on keyboard. Not necessarily the greatest ending, but memorable.

Only a year prior to the Femmes first album and 4 years prior to Pixies. But I agree, I hear both in there.

The Gun Club is a killer band, I'd highly recommend checking them out if you like punk, alt rock or blues.
