I didn't the write article text, I just used what was the rumored article from the earlier posts I saw and changed the html code around on the LA Times site to make it look legit. So technically this wasn't photoshopped (unless you count the cropping of the page which I did use PS for)

I really did make the screenshot, but I didn't write the text. I saw the posts earlier with the text from the supposed taken down page and everyone saying they wanted proof of a screenshot, so that became my inspiration to play with the html code using firebug. I used the rolling stones article from a previous day, changed the paragraphs and title then linked the picture to an old coachella pic that LA times had used.

Worst part making it was the Recent Articles box... when i was editing the page all the articles in that box were from around 1-2pm when i was making the faux screenshot, so I had to look through archived articles to find ones before the time and change the titles for all of them.

Then I used a crappy firefox extension to take the screenshot and it actually wouldn't take it because of a glitch. I didn't want to install another one and erase everything I already did to the page (which would happen had i refreshed) so i was able to copy/paste the screenshot into photoshop. It was on the large side (filesize) and very tall so i cropped it and lowered the jpg quality to about 60. The jpg quality is why the text looks like shit on the screenshot.

It's cool that the LA Times even had to deny it and wrote an article about it. Never thought it would go that far. I actually didn't even think about anyone contacting the writer to see if they wrote it, i just used the one that wrote the Stones article by default.

That's amazing, all that hard work sure paid off! I can't think of a time when more people were actually fooled by a "leaked lineup".

I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if this article was about 99% dead-on (when it was written) and the reason the lineup stalled forever is because it all started falling the fuck apart. Daft Punk and TLake probably dropped and then RHCP got scooped up as a last-minute, 2012-festival-regurgitated piece of shit replacement.

That will be the story I choose to believe due to the long wait for a lackluster headliner lineup. True or not.
