The general consensus from everyone I knew that saw them at the Palace gig in 2003 was that they were great. I am pretty sure I had a test that night - it might have even been finals - or else I would have gone.

There isn't much to the show. Some rainbowish projections, a couple laptops and a guitar. Nothing from the album was reworked or different. This was the show I saw anyway, which was at least 10 years ago at this point.......jesus christ.
rainbowish projections you say?
You're old, dude.

I don't hate The Postal Service. I mean they kinda suck, not horrible or anything. But I really hope this and fuckin' Culture Club aren't the only reunions we get this year
I really can't see them on the Outdoor, though if they are there they'll likely play last. But I feel they're ingrained enough in pop culture that GV wouldn't schedule them against the headliner. And I imagine that since there's less of a "live band" component the main stage would be more appropriate for whatever visuals they might incorporate. A sub slot would also provide clues as to what headliners would be a complement. If I'm wrong I will gladly buy you a beer some time during Weekend 1.

But with a lot of the other rumored subs being thrown around that are bigger names, and have bigger feeling shows (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, Blur, Sigur Ros, whatever), how do you see them on the main? I see all of those names playing the main before The Postal Service. I think the outdoor sounds right. I also don't think they have to play last at all. Anything from sunset to dark sounds right. Maybe throw them on the outdoor with the main stage closed, a la Mazzy Star.
http://www.ology.com/post/251069/the...ities-and-moreThe latest huge development: according to an official press release, the Give Up reissue will feature two previously unreleased Postal Service songs, titled "Turn Around" and "A Tattered Line Of String," as well as "every other official recording the band has ever released," including b-sides, remixes, unreleased live cuts, the Iron & Wine and The Shins covers and more.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (taking the good with the bad)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
I see them at the Gobi, possibly about the same set time as m83 was last year. I'm so excited for this reunion! But the conflicts, oh christ the conflicts...
May I ask why?
I'd say it's a collection of a number of reasons that include physical limitations, general music disinterest and changes to the festival and festival goers that keep me from being as excited as I used to be about it. I'd have fun if I went, but it's more work now than it used to be and I don't mind shifting my attention and finances elsewhere. I've attended 10 Coachellas at this point, so I feel like I've had my fill.
I'll agree that the crowd dynamic seems to have changed even in my short attendance period. Obviously you have more perspective in terms of that. I plan on taking a break from Coachella(and other music festivals) after this year in order to work on putting my money towards other endeavors as well.
