Get Metric to Coachella 2013!!!!!
EMILY HAINES
With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew.
I finally got to see Metric this year at the House of Blues in Las Vegas. Awesome live band - so dreamy and hip! What a fun, freakin dance party. These guys are the real deal. I was just a little bumed that they didn't play "Rock Me Now" - you know, since it does shout out Las Vegas.
With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew.

They are good live, but the new album was meh, still wouldnt mind them at coachella
They are playing Friday.
Just posting that for later reference. Quote it if you want.
Saw them do a headlining set at Osheaga festival up in Montreal last August, and I was really pleasantly surprised at how well they filled a "main stage" / "headliner" sort of set. Felt like they belonged on a set that big.
When the band lived in LA before "Old World Underground" Jimmy & Emilly attended the 2002 Coachella while staying on the campgrounds. Broken Social Scene with Jimmy played a year or two later. Then Metric in 2006(power issues in the tent mid afternoon) again in 2008(sundown outdoor, proshot clips on youtube)
So it's the band's 5th experience with this festival, plus GV have booked them dozens of times in SoCal.
Lou Reed might show up in their set for "Wanderlust"
Really surprised that they are so low on Friday. I expect them to get a mid afternoon set on the main stage.
Mojave: Stars>Metric>Passion Pit>HTDA?

Synthetica is underrated. I liked it a lot. Every bit as good as Fantasies. Excited to see a proper set from them. The only other time I've seen them live was at a radio station promoted festival here in the SF Bay, and they were one of the first acts and played something like 5 songs. If I remember correctly, they played right before that god awful Jared Leto band.
Metric played the Outdoor in 2008 to a massive crowd, and one of the few instances that year where getting up front was just not happening. Last year they played the fucking Greek. They'll be late afternoon main or nighttime Outdoor. Hopefully the former because there's way too much that's going to be happening at night on Friday.
Taking into account how much is indeed going on Friday, I'm wondering if they actually will play on Outdoor or Main... In 2008, they were billed 8th and this year, 15th. They also played against Sean Penn/Danny Tenaglia/Kid Sister/Spiritualized... in other words, not much else going on. I agree they SHOULD play a nice late set, but with everything that's billed above them, it looks like the only way that would happen is if they were in the Mojave, ala Cut Copy 2011.

Saw them at The Greek in LA a few months ago. Such a great feel good show. Really looking forward to seeing them again.
I'm going to see this show, and I'm going to enjoy it, but I know I am also going to leave feeling disappointed when they inevitably don't play Raw Sugar.
i am probably going to miss a lot or all of metric because of the kick in the balls that is the divine fits/alt j/japandroids/metric singularity.
Totally, I really wanted to see Metric, but Divine Fits/Japandroids wins.
hope they dont have "audio/tech issues this time"
coachella soundchecks have never been pleasant on them
graduated to mainstage also so i doubt it
Wk1 Friday the 12th Set...
i love you metric...but please emily...STOP TRYING TO DANCE AND SING!
just that little annoyance throws the set off
except for dead disco this was a slightly flat performance. like they were distracted by something that wasn't the sunlight in their eyes.
