Not totally OG, but I've gone every year since 2004. What a ride its been, can't imagine how amazing 99 must have been!

1999 was amazing, no one knew what to expect. Imagine doing Coachella without a Smartphone,onsite camping or shuttles.

I've been to every year as well. Including both weekends last year. I think to truly say you've been to them all, you have to do both weekends every year. That is if of course you want the platinum 20 year bracelet. I can honestly say I will never miss it. Can't break the streak now. I wonder how many people out there gave actually been to them all? 100? 500? 1000? It can't be that many.

It would have still been a great experience and not even my first concert (that was the KMEL Summer Jam in 1998) so I'm down to just have gone as a kid haha

I guess it also would have had to have been with an adult who had great musical taste.

My first shows were Van Halen and Beach Boys (different shows) at the Blockbuster Pavilion in Devore sometime in the early to mid 90s. I had no idea what I was seeing, really. Coachella is the first show I HAD to be at (2009). Before then, I wasn't really into going to live shows.

I was there in 99 working as a vendor selling mixtapes and glowsticks, so I didn't see much of the fest itself, but I could tell there was something different about this one. There was something about the mood of the staff and the crowd that was a little happier to be there than the generic raves we were used to.
Life intervened for a few years until I could return as a fan in 2003, and have been coming every year since.
My favorite was 2006 not only for the surprise Daft Punk spectacle but for the Massive Attack - Go Team - Scissor Sisters 1-2-3 punch that closed Sunday night. I've been chasing that feeling ever since that weekend.

I stuck around for Tool and loved it but I really wish we could have had a second weekend that year to do exactly what you did. Scissor Sisters were at their prime at that show and it was when they were touring for my favorite album of theirs. The footage I've seen from The Go! Team's set is also really great and I wish I could have seen it all.

i attended the second and third skipped the fourth and back again every year since 2004 (just weekend one last year though.) i think i started camping in 05. like someone else mentioned earlier in this thread, hard to recall exactly who i saw & when as they all blend beautifully through the haze of the years, the heat, and the work it took to get me there - as well as friendly neighbors to share the experience (: looking forward once again - and planning to maximize the enjoyment this time around with a whole week to prep for the best yet. of course it doesnt hurt to start early and start researching the unfamiliar, channelling the past, and hoping for a few more great adds.

I thought that mostly grooms and polo horses lived at the polo fields.
Donegal Farms would be a bit cramped to live in for 8 years, and the trailer park at 52 @ Monroe is not a part of any polo field.

02, 03, 05, 06, 12 and now this year....

Each and every year was amazing with great and different peeps each year, but I still think 2002 or 2003 was my favorite because of how intimate the fields still felt. It wasn't quite a zoo yet. You could walk the fields without rubbing shoulders all day. It felt like you and only 40k new about it and not the world.

Regardless, Coachella is home.
