Looks pretty stupid bro.
I went last year. Worst festival ever.
They search your hard going from camping to music, they have very few good acts booked, and string cheese plays 4 sets. They also advertise having a lake, but when you get there it is off limits. Also, ticket was beyond expensive at 350$. If you want a smaller campin fest on the east coast, go to bisco, if you want artsy hippy lovin vibes, go to rootwire, if tou want a large clusterfuck with too many people and 90% shity music, go to bonaroo. Whatever you do, dont go to electric forest.
"How long will this last, this delicious feeling of being alive, of having penetrated the veil which hides beauty and the wonders of celestial vistas? It doesn't matter, as there can be nothing but gratitude for even a glimpse of what exists for those who can become open to it."
Not like you should be concerned, but its a pain in the ass waiting in a line in mud for that kinda bullshit. I was just making a starment about the overall lameness of the place. If you have neer been to a fest in your life, you will love it, its a music festival, but it is the worst one. Lineup will be terrible, it has been terrible since 08, and that was still mediocre.
Nick, dont you like edm? Why would you consider this when demf absolutely crushes it?

I think some people would choose EF > DEMF just due to the camping and surroundings of lit up forests, which are both appealing when attending a fest. DEMF's lineup kills it but not too many people realize that Detroit isn't a total crime ridden shit hole.

Somebody was going to pick up that spot for a festival. It had to much hype after the first Rothbury not to. They obviously threw enough money at it to get it before anybody else. They are making out like bandits though charging the prices they charge and not having to book ANY headliners.
If you want to pay 350$ to smoke deemsters in a lit up forest that is your call. Realize that rootwire costs 80 bucks and has twice as much art/hippies/wierd lit up shit, and everyone actually camps in the woods. No matter what you are looking for, someone elae does it better than EF.
The woods at ef were cool in te first nigt, after that verything was laced with an inch of dirt and dust.

2012 is the only EF that I have not attended. Sounds like a bit has changed. I enjoyed the first two EF more than most of the Bonnaroos I've attended. However, I was with a fairly large group of good friends each time. Plus these days it is basically "cheese phest".
If you live in the midwest..it's something to do. About a 3 hour drive from Chicago. We usually find VIP tickets for way cheaper than most festivals and the VIP area is cool.
I hope the lineup has a few gems on encouragement
New York Ice Cream TV Travel Good Times
Dispatch seems really out of place to me at this festival... are they friends with TSCI?

You dont remember their 1999 smash hit "the general"?

Somewhat diverse lineup, could be better. I'm not too far from Rothbury so I'll probably go to see Empire of the Sun and some other acts, but something that really stood out to me was their Back 40 VIP package. It's more than air conditioned showers and bathrooms, private happy hour lounges, and VIP viewing. What looks pretty unique is free morning brunch in a saloon, access to a replica old western town, and a water park with a huge pool, where I'll be partying at during the day. What other places have VIP water parks?
Aside from Coachella, all festivals seem to be in the midwest/east coast. What's up with Cali fests?
