Don't depend on your cell phone, be free. Try barefoot for the first day and see how it works out on friday while the grass is still fresh. Hydration takes place 24 hours in advance so drink plenty of water starting Thursday and the entire weekend. Most importatnly have as much fun as you can while staying respectful, treat everyone around you better than you would like to be treated.

Also if you're camping: Use a canopy not a tent, tents tend to trap the heat. Bring an excess of water, never hurts to have too much.

    - Don't try a drug you've never had before here. This isn't the place. You don't want to end up as one of them youtube video stereotypes of the festival... unless you want to of course

Remember where you parked your car. Write it down if you can.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Or you bring both so you can sleep without getting rolled.

Baby wipes are great but I went with bath wipes last year - thicker and didn't leave behind grime I felt with some brands of baby wipes. $4.95 at REI

I went with a group of friends last year who would NOT put their phones down; it really ruined the weekend. PUT your cell phone AWAY! You're at Coachella, enjoy ever single minute - there are literally thousands of people who would love to be in your shoes. Enjoy every minute, even just wondering the festival site. The atmosphere is amazing (not like at all like the attitude of those who post on the boards - there is a reason I'm a 'lurker'). This will be my third Coachella and I can't wait!!!

    Addition:

Walkie Talkies are the best form of communication. For like 29.99 you can buy a three pack with 4 tuning (ie 10.13 wave setting) and has a feature can page the others. You can have your own channel and talk with your friends as long as everyone stays charged. You want something with at least a 5-mile radius.

    Mods:

    34. Earplugs. *also a great way to sleep at night if your campground is partying.

    Re: Backpacks

Drawstring backpacks are good, I used one this year and last and no one complained about it. Just be sure to keep it lightweight, only pack what you need - extra shirt, sunscreen, water, etc.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

think about more than just water.

I always bring along at least one gatorade/poweraid/vitamin water type drink per day. your body will thank you for those electrolytes, especially if your rolling etc.

This one might just be me, but I also always bring several bananas. You would be suprised how hard one is to find, even in the farmers market. I get horrible leg cramps by sunday without them.

Ditto. I forgot to put this in my reply. Bring a big backpack and by 4pm you'll hate it, as will everyone whose chest you are shoving it into in the crowds.

It's important due to the fact it is unknown to most. If everyone knows about them they are useless.

I got lucky, I have friends who have gone to Coachella for the past 7 years so they helped me out quite a bit

I'm sure they will update once they release the lineup.

They'll probably change the whole site.

You look like even more of a tool walking around looking for service on a cell phone trying to find your friends by the churro stand.

"HELLO!? HELLO!? WHICH CHURRO STAND IS IT BRO? BY THE MOJAVE? BY THE MAIN? HELLO!?

Yes. Timestamp your text messages, have designated spots to meet at, don't be a fucking pussy and freak out if you can't find your friends.

Were the smallest lockers always $54? That seems a bit steep.

That does seem expensive but everything Coachella related is usually expensive.

I was pretty surprised to see Camelpaks aren't allowed, mine has been a lifesaver for me at Bonnaroo. If I bring a regular water bottle on a sling, are there enough fountains to refill it easily, or should I just plan on buying lots of $2 bottles of water?
