Yes, camelbaks and similar are not allowed in the festival grounds. Sometimes security guards do not see them, don't know the rule or decide not to follow the rule so every year some people are able to bring them in.

I'm 99% certain of the answer to this but I better check just to make sure. I know the merch booth normally accepts debit cards. I imagine the Zia tent probably does as well? Correct?

They did last year, huge pain in the ass for me since I wasn't even camping but they parked me in a lot on the ass end of nowhere so I had to go through camping to get to the venue.

I always take a photo on my phone containing a friend's name and contact info (along with a message about being lost) and use it as my lock screen. If my phone gets lost, nobody can get through the password, but they can still see a name and number to contact in order to return my phone.

Coachella newbie but speaking from Bonnaroo experience, it can be handy to freeze bottles of water to use in the cooler! We tried putting them down as the bottom layer then putting our food on top and filling with extra ice. So nice to have the icy water later. Remember to open and pour a little out before you freeze though.
