I resolve to find a better work life balance in order to reduce stress and foster relationships with my friends and family.
I also resolve to brush my cat Ron's teeth EVERY DAY no skipping.
I didn't post this in the 2012 resolutions thread but Tiffany and I resolved to eat all 47 empanadas at Empanada Mama. We finished off today in the (tiny) restaurant with a lunch of our favorites and then the Caramel and Cheese for dessert. You can read our comments on each one in the spreadsheet.
For 2013:
- Eat all the regular rolls at Aru Sushi.
- Try all the flavors of vegan soft-serve (2/month) at Kyotofu.
- Go on 50+ walks of 30 minutes or more.
- Try out the gym and/or yoga.
- 10+ visits to The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
- 8+ visits to other museums including Park Avenue Armory, PS1, the Guggenheim and MoMA.
- Swim in an ocean.
- Get name changed and new ID, etc.
- Send out thank you cards.
And various things I don't know how to or want to devise metrics for such as decluttering, paring down physical books and CDs, hanging up art and light-up letters, doing slow-cooker or big pot cooking several times a month and watching more opera.

I'll try to accept that there are some people in the world who "bump" wompwompwompwomp music at all hours of the day, while trying to talk over their methed out companions about who they "socked" the other day. Try being the operative =)
Let's do this thing.
I also think New Years resolutions are bullshit, but I've got plenty of changes I need to make to my life, so why not list them now and try to put them in effect. I haven't worked out specific goals for most of these, that may come later. Or I'll just continue being a piece of shit wastoid.
Get out of Akron or at least get a car and get my own place.
Home cooked healthier meals, consume at least one non-potato fresh vegetable and one fruit a day. I'm thinking make big meals on my days off to save for the days I do work and won't feel like cooking.
Find some way to be more active.
Stay on top of cleanliness and household chores, try to get this house to a level where it's actually bearable to live in.
I'd like to see at least 2 shows of live music a month, but looking through the upcoming calender in the surrounding areas for January, that's already looking difficult.
Read at least 2 books a month.
Keep up with new music a lot better and try not to cram my yearly listening into the last 2 months so I can come up with a list.
Focus on finding a creative outlet, either music or writing. Maybe at least learn how to DJ.
Less time on the internet, more time actually doing SOMETHING. Hopefully some of the stuff listed above.
Less succumbing to cowardice and depression, more adventures.

Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
