Indeed. And a couple of the acts in the 'new tent' on the mock schedules already have 1.5 to 2 hour sets. Seems completely plausible.

I can see that. I hope they get extended set times.
Also, if this new stage is strictly for DJ's there will be little-to-no breaks between their sets. Just like it used to be at Coachella. No need to give Avicii and Datsik 20-30 minutes to put together their retarded stage set-ups.
This is absolutely fantastic news for the simple fact that most of the message board elitists will congregate here for extended periods of time throughout the weekend. Boosting overall festival morale to an all time high by keeping all the frownie faces secluded from the rest of the general population.
So acts like Booka Shade, Simian Mobile Disco and Discloure will now most likely be in The Mojave or Gobi?
Dont forget sardine jumping.
NachoCat: years and years of Coachella's RUINED by having to endure sets next to a bunch of message board elitists, who, though they detest those acts and have taken time to express their distaste on the message board, show up to the sets to have a horrible time.

Nothing screams elitism in 2013 more than going to a Jamie Jones set, though. He's right about that.

This is exciting news. But like someone else mentioned, I hope it's not packed with people wanting to chill in the A/C.

The wood floors at the dome destroyed my knees in 2011. Why is this supposedly a good thing?
Going back to this post, I wonder if some of the DJ's who are assumed to be playing the Sahara (who actually DJ) will be on this stage. Acts like Roni Size, Thomas Gold, Ladies Night and a few others could be here if they make this stage / tent big enough.
I would even include Moby and Oakenfold, but I am not sure the stage will be big enough to for those crowds.
"It's roughly a discotheque with a wooden floor and air conditioning that's meant to cater to the lost of art of DJing and mixing records," he says, adding that it's in contrast to the big lights and bombastic sounds of the Sahara Tent. "There's a place for that, but part of what we're responding to as Metropolis relaunches is that there are adults and other generations who want to listen to this music presented in a thoughtful way."
If this is the case, in addition to whats been said, i would think these types of artists would be at this new tent:
Lee Scratch Perry
Moby
Four Tet
DJ Harvey
Birdy Nam Nam
Booka Shade
Seth Troxler
Infected Mushroom
Beardyman
Cassy
The 2 Bears
Friday: The Stone Roses, Modest Mouse, Johnny Marr, Bassnectar, Japandroids, Beardyman, Jello Biafra, Lee Scratch Perry, Four Tet, Deathfix.
Saturday: Sigur Ros, New Order, Violent Femmes, Puscifer, Moby, Trash Talk, Biffy Clyro, Action Bronson, FOALS, Shovels & Rope.
Sunday: Wu-Tang Clan, Father John Misty, DIIV, Rodriguez, OMD, Roni Size, The Three O'Clock, Dinosaur Jr, Cloud Nothings, Ghost.
Beardyman is neither a DJ nor does he mix records. Also, I think you guys are getting way too ahead of yourselves imagining that people that popular will be playing the new stage considering that the guy who's curating the stage is some radio dude nobody's ever heard of. Thank you.
oh no, THANK YOU for your difinitive statement. Im glad you know so much about this new stage.
i am well aware that beardyman does not mix records. He does how ever mix his own vocals & beatboxing, very similar to a "DJ". I figured he would be on this new stage cause of how small and intimate his performance style is.
and i see what your saying about "people that popular" not playing a smaller new stage, but what better way to get people over there to check it out than have some decent artists? I guess you could scratch moby off the list if you think that, but i think everyone else is plausible.
