If you do afterparties, don't make the mistake of taking google's advice on which buses to take to get to the Empty Bottle from the festival grounds. It requires a transfer in one of the less safe parts of Chicago and buses don't run there frequently. Not only did I miss Nachtmystium, I was also gawked at by unaccompanied children who walked up to me and said, "I love seeing white people here at night!" then ran off laughing.

p4k is a cool festival. i have gone every year since it started ( and am on fifth coachella outing). it is somewhat non corporate and has a good vibe. the undercard is always excellent. some of coachella's artists for this year-grimes, purity ring, hot chip played at last year's p4k festival. its always a great time. p4k's headliners for this year are great.

Yeeeah. The first year I went, afterwards we walked west to like Damon and then north up to Wicker Park area, and it was ridiculously sketchy. After I moved there I found out just how dangerous that area is. Union Park itself is in a pretty ghetto area. You pretty much want to avoid the area around the Green Line west of Ashland, where Union Park sits. Really it sounds like the fest is getting too big for that tiny park these days. They oughta move it, but I'm sure they won't/can't.

I stood there for a good 45 minutes waiting for a bus outside of what appeared to be a 24 hour McDonalds. I was the only person waiting but I'd never seen a street so insanely active around midnight with nothing of note going on in the immediate vicinity. SO many people out, and I'd say at least 1/4 of them had alcohol in brown paper bags and were just sitting on stoops yelling across the street at people. Definitely an intense place.

I don't expect a single one of these bands to be on the lineup, but a boy can dream.

I think by then they could be, John and Peter did an acoustic set not too long ago. Of course it is up to their comfort level, but I'm sure if they were ready they would play if asked. Pitchfork really kinda broke them into a bunch of audiences.

They are a great two piece local band that I could really see fitting in great at this festival. I wish there myspace page was still up like it used to be, that was a thing of legend.

I know Swans have played outside, probably even in the sun. I would just see time constraints being the biggest issue at this point.

I pretty much anticipate that Baroness will be at FYF this year, as they've booked shows for them in LA before and had to cancel last year due to the crash (I think it happened a week prior.)

Yep. Unless they've put out an album well rated PF in the past few years or have some serious indie appeal, don't expect the band. Trentemøller's 2006 album got a 7.2 which is respectable, but it's neither recent enough nor highly rated to be a consideration.

If we get Bat For Lashes on Friday leading up to Bjork, I'll be damn happy.

I talked to Denver at Webster Hall show and he said they've been asked to play Pitchfork. Conor even said on stage, it won't be 10 years before you see us again but no "new" materials have been recorded yet
