Holy shittttttt R. Kelly. I was just about to post how I want a 12 Play set front-to-back, but seriously looking through all his albums, I want a huge greatest hits set.
HOT AND FRESH OUT THE KITCHEN
Also, his new album is choice if someone hasn't heard it. So good
5/12 - Acid Mothers Temple - Casbah
5/13 OoOoOo - Soda Bar
5/19 Black Angels / Hanni El Khatib - Belly Up
5/29 Junip - Troubadour
5/30 John Talabot - Echoplex
6/2 Bjork - Hollywood Palladium
R. Kelly sounds like an awesome time. when does the full lineup come out?
They release it in three or four stages. The complete lineup is usually released by April or May.
Eh. I am also doing Psych fest in late April, which made Coachella already a stretch. Now I think I am going to just focus on Psych Fest, Deathfest, and Pitchfork. If Psych fest has cheap enough camping I may consider something else, but it would probably be a festival The Knife is playing.
Did you mean the single day tickets? 'cuz there's a layaway plan (for 3-day passes only), too.
a ticket plan for 120 bucks? As ridiculous as that sounds....fuck that would suit me.
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Upcoming shows
5/13 Ghostface Killah @ Gramercy
5/16 Kurt Vile & the Violators @ Bowery

5/18 Sharon Van Etten/Father John Misty @ Prospect Park

Lick an orange, it tastes like an orange. Lick a pineapple, it tastes like a pineapple. Go ahead, try it. Try some more. The strawberries taste like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries! We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. Come along, come along.
What's with all the love for R. Kelly guys?
I haven't listened to much of his music at all, but the stuff I've heard over the years is terrible IMO...
5/12 - Acid Mothers Temple - Casbah
5/13 OoOoOo - Soda Bar
5/19 Black Angels / Hanni El Khatib - Belly Up
5/29 Junip - Troubadour
5/30 John Talabot - Echoplex
6/2 Bjork - Hollywood Palladium
I got 2 tickets earlier this morning when my Coachella buddy text me about the headliners... Bjork was at the top of my list for Coachella this year And I've wanted to see Belle & Sebastian for a while... R. Kelly is a nice ending. I hope the fest isn't as shitty as some have made it out to be... I don't expect it to be Lolla, but a sweaty shithole is something else...
COACHELLA '06, '10, '11, '12 - BONNAROO '06, '07, '09, '12 - LOLLAPALOOZA '07 - ACL '11 - WAKARUSA '11 BLUR - YYY'S - MODEST MOUSE - HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS - LOCAL NATIVES - THE XX - THE POSTAL SERVICE - SIGUR ROS - NEW ORDER - HOT CHIP - GRIZZLY BEAR - VAMPIRE WEEKEND - PRETTY LIGHTS - TAME IMPALA - DEAD CAN DANCE - JAMES BLAKE
It's not Lolla, there are no bros present. And its earlier than Lolla so its going to be hot as balls.
It will not be that perfect weather from 09 thats for sure. Ummmmm, lots more sponsors, probably more people sitting around in lawn chairs, beer is only heineken now.

Yeah you guys are tripping me out with the talk of overcrowding. Is it that bad?

Well here is the thing, the 2 main stages are across from one another. So tons of people just set up their fucking lawn chairs in the middle and sit around all day and just listen to both stages regardless. You'll dread it at night when trying to get somewhere through the crowd cause you cant see who is probably sitting around for no reason at all. If its balls hot ( more than likely) its not an issue until the sun starts going down. Everyone will hang out by the trees for shade.
Heres the map for 2012. to give you an idea.

It's fucking better than RHCP. And no, I dont even care if he does Trapped In The Closet or not. I wanna hear the hits.
Heineken probably paid more for the sponsorship, so purely a business decision. Flat Stock still very much exists and is a nice break away from everything going on. Oh yeah, sound is much better at all the stages and lighting too, thats been the nicest thing. Although I think with Pearl Jam playing Wrigley that Friday night, that lawn chair crowd will be far away. Its gonna be a horrible weekend in Wrigleyville. Pearl Jam on Friday, and Jason Aldeen with Kelly Clarkson the next night.

My take on Pitchfork is that it needs to move out of Union Park. It's not the worst overcrowding I've had to deal with, but they seem to be trying to pack too many shops into union park. I'll deal with it for Bjork though... I suppose I may have to get a 3 day pass if the undercard is strong though. R Kelly and B&S are great gets, but it will take more than them to bring me back into that heat.
You make a really good point... Perhaps this year will be better due to the busy weekend.
