Missing a co-worker's Christmas party tonight because the urchins decided to have "It's a Wonderful Life " viewing party and now the wife and I are "supervising" a roomful of egg-nogged 19-22 year olds.

I planned ahead and bought 4 1/5s of whiskey, 3 24 blocks of assorted beers, and a few 22s to make the weeks go quick. Plus I have to drive to Orange county tomorrow after work, in traffic, most likely while it's raining. But at least I get to see my cat, so I am pretty stoked on that. I bought him a sweater vest.

My biggest complaint is that we're supposed to have today and New Year's Eve off and I am going to be working anyway because we have reports due the end of the year. I'll be working from home, at least.

Also in part because work is so busy and I don't get vacation my wife and I are staying in NYC and don't get to see any other family. We will try to Skype folks tonight and tomorrow but we'll see how that works out.
