Lets speculate who the other adds will be. I am thinking some R&B Jazz type situation? Stevie Wonder perhaps

Think more along the lines of Irma Thomas, or Marcia Ball. The best R&B you'll hear at voodoo wil be by someone without a platinum record however.

At the festival, you get the occasional band dressing up, but last year the dates missed halloween completely and I don't remember anyone dressing up. This year, the fest will also miss the 31st, so don't count on much of anything.

The festival-goers don't seem to care, and you will find all sorts of costumes around the grounds.

I suppose if you're into dressing up, you'll have plenty of company...but, it isn't that big of a deal for the vast majority of the crowd.

MGMT dressed up as the Scooby gang a couple years ago. They also tried to do the world's largest zombie crowd, but it failed. They may have eventually succeeded.

Halloween is the second biggest holiday in New Orleans after Mardi Gras. I know other places have cool parties and what not for Halloween, but Halloween in the city is fucking huge, I'm not talking block party huge, more like blocks of party huge. We even have Halloween parades on Frenchmen. Travel early, go all out on your costume, and don't miss out. It's NOLA at its best.

We are showing up on the 30th and jetting back ooot to Canada on the 4th, 5th? That should be a decent amount a time to get an idea of how this city rolls?

Since you can stay out drinking for pretty much 24 hours a day in NO, that's plenty of time.

I once went to a QOTSA show in NO during Mardi Gras. I had no idea that it was going to be during Mardi Gras so I was in for quite the shock when I got there.

Mr Fairchild, so its a good place to indulge and let loose? Mardi Gras is the crème de la crème... how does Halloween rank? Seems like the right place for that date?

Sorry about the late reply. I forgot about this thread. Don't remember the name of the company because none of our bids panned out. We just secured a sweet vacation rental near Dillard University using airbnb. We got a lot of replies from some other good places. I'd suggest looking into it.

I've never been to halloween in NO but I imagine it's a huge party. I'd do Voodoo if I could this year but I don't think I can break away 2 weekends in a row.

I'll be here during the weekend for my birthday/Halloween but I doubt I can get my friends to buy tickets to this. Are they any post festival shows? Maybe I can catch one one night and party the rest.

The talk is that Gary Numan is opening for NIN at their two Florida dates - on 10/30 and 10/31. This seems like a lock for him to perform before NIN at Voodoo... as it should be.

For anyone who saw Numan with NIN at their farewell shows... it was meant to be.
