    Yesterday.

Obama dramatically wiped a tear as he said, "The majority of those who died today were children -- beautiful little kids ... They had their entire lives ahead of them -- birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own..."

YEAH OBAMA. SAME AS THE MILLION BABIES YOU HAD ABORTED THIS YEAR.

    ARE YOU CRYING FOR THEM?!

Victoria is a grade A cunt. Not even Howard Stern could make her look good when she was on his show recently.

And Westboro needs to be wiped out in a tornado.

The only thing I can think about that eases some of the pain, is that they died still believing in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and Unicorns, instead of the bitter truth that we're left dealing with... My heart feels broken over this loss of innocence... truly broken...
Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

It is the horror that gets to me more than anything. The horror the children who survived went through and have to live with, and the horror that all of those children went through moments before being killed.

It's even sadder when you see their photos. I looked at a few and then I had to stop. It makes it too personal.

Was away from technology for the weekend, but learned my wife's co-worker has a niece and nephew at that school, one of which was in a classroom where shots were fired. both are still alive.

Then I get a text that some asshole unloaded 50 rounds into the ground/air at our local mall on saturday. So it looks like internet shopping and staying home for the next week and a half for us, maybe the crazies will calm down after the holidays.

Someone I used to work with back east was one of the first responders at the scene. I think that's what gets to me the most, trying to understand what he went through, what he saw and having to not let emotions get to him until after he left the scene.

Anyone really know what set this kid off? Rumors? I heard that he had an altercation with someone from the school a few days before - wonder what went down?

Interesting excerpt from a journal article I'm reading this morning...

"Countries with less stringent gun control laws have been observed to have a higher
risk of mass murder than countries with stricter laws. Although it is clear that gun
control in the United States remains a tenacious and controversial issue, other countries
have had some success pursuing this area. For example, an Australian observational
study compared mass murders before and after 1996, the year of a widely
publicized mass murder in Tasmania. Australia quickly enacted gun law reforms
that included removing semiautomatic firearms, pump-action shotguns, and rifles
from civilian possession. Results of the study revealed that in the 18 years before
the gun laws, there were 13 mass shootings in Australia. In the 10.5 years after the
gun law reforms, there were none. Although comparing firearm laws among countries
may make drawing firm conclusions difficult, currently available data suggest that
mass tragedies occur with less frequency in countries with stricter gun control laws."

From what I understand, there's no real evidence to suggest he had a mental illness at this point, aside from neighbors saying he was a "loner" had a "personality disorder" and "might be autistic".
