so i kinda hate writing up stuff I listen to but I need get back into the practice or I will never do it.So forgive the poor reviews
Dark Flowers - Radioland- which is a Peter Murphy & Jim Kerr side project which I find 1/3 of the album good and the rest dull.
Mitiz - Truly alive - an aussie disco indie band that on my first listen i thought this is really good and now I find them on my second listen to be a little forgettable...but that may because I was being more of a harsher judge to even say its a GREAT album.

Ok......... Foals new LP is opening up to me in huge waves right now. Late Night is so groovy... The entire album is great.

The Simian Mobile Disco Live album is fantastic. I am glad these guys were able to separate, and elevate themselves from the electro-house vacuum that dominated the mid-2000's. Looking forward to their set at Coachella.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
I need to listen to Haxan Cloak again... I listened to it after Function's Incubation, which I loved, and I couldn't get into Haxan. It sounded deep as fuck tho... gotta relisten.
Really enjoying Submerse's Algorithms and Ghosts and ∆ ∆'s Skyway. Lots of great stuff coming out right now on the electronic music front.
L. Pierre's The Island Come True is getting some play as well, and I just got thru Bowie's newest for the first time last night. Surprised at how much I loved it! Some really great tracks in there, I'll have to repeat that one soon.

Gave Stubborn Heart's self titled a couple listens and have to say this is a pretty solid album with lots of quality tracks. Soulful/r&b vocals with interesting atmospheric dub-ish beats similar to James Blake. Definitely picked up on different things in songs between the two listens. Hoping this will continue to grow with more listens.
I listen to some HORRIBLE indie bands today and the worse by far was this band called Theme Park-s/t.Theme Park is so bad I dont even want to recall their bullshit besides its some typical indie dance band.Darwin Deez "Songs For Imaginative People" is like some horrible hybrid of Phoenix and Jimmy Eats World with really bad 90s band lyrics.
I did enjoy Rhye's Woman album on my first listen.
This new Boris album in bonkers. All over the place.
*based upon tedious fact checking.
Only three songs into the new Besnard Lakes album and it's already wonderful.

It's been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said I'm angry
Five days since you laughed at me saying
Get that together, come back and see me
Three days since the living room
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
But it'll still be two days till I say I'm sorry
Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
You'll think you're looking at aquaman
I summon fish to the dish, although I like the chalet swiss
I like the sushi 'cause it's never touched a frying pan
Hot like Wasabi when I bust rhymes
Big like LeAnn Rimes
Becasue I'm all about value
Bert Kaempfort's got the mad hits
You try to match wits, you try to hold me
But I bust through.
Gonna make a break and take a fake,
I'd like a stinkin' achin' shake
I like vanilla, cuz it's the finest of the flavours
Gotta see the show, 'cause then you'll know
The vertigo is gonna grow
Cause it's so dangerous,
You'll have to sign a waiver
How can I help if I think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin' hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean? Well, you soon will
I have the tendancy to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt
It's been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air and said you're crazy
Five days since you tackled me,
I've still got the rug burns on both my knees
It's been three days since the afternoon
You realized it's not my fault, not a moment too soon
Yesterday you'd forgiven me,
And now I sit back and wait till you say you're sorry
Chickity China the Chinese chicken
Have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'
Watchin X-Files with no lights on
We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford I'm gettin frantic
Like Sting, I'm tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like Kurosawa, I make mad films
Okay I don't make films,
But if I did, they'd have a Samurai
Gonna get a set a' better clubs
Gonna find the kind with the tiny nubs,
Just so my irons aren't always flying off the back-swing
Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing
How can I help if I think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin' hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean?
Though, you soon will
I have the tendancy to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of losing my shirt
It's been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to the sides and said I'm sorry
Five days since I laughed at you and said
You just did just what I thought you were gonna do!
Three days since the living room,
We realized we were both to blame, but what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause we still got two days till we say we're sorry
It'll still be two days till we say we're sorry,
It'll still be two days till we say we're sorry,

I think he's alluding to this:
When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so fucking special
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I'm not around
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
She's running out the door
She's running
She run, run, run, run
Run
Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't belong here

^best song on the album. It's great front to back though.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
Yeah, Rhye's album has definitely hit the sweet spot for me. That's just some well written, lush love jams.

Ahahahahahaha !
Echoing the praise for the new Veronica Falls.. super great feel-good jangly pop jams. Reminiscent of The Pastels and other early British indie rock groups. Usually I hate when new bands try to go for this type of sound, but these guys pull it off really well. Definitely recommend it![]()
i dig the opener on the Rhye album a lot... there are ups and downs for there, but nothing that grabs me quite like that first track.
no one does it like The Drones man. their albums are always incredibly dense and multi-layered, and I See Seaweed is no exception. looking forward to letting it play out slowly over the next couple years.
