Yeah, I don't usually think like that. It should be about the nominated work, not a pity award.

    Still, M83 > Fiona.

    Slim pickings
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Nice to see Kelly get a few nominations, too bad the song and album are pretty weak.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

All worth it just to see Justin Bieber's manager have a twitter freak out for no nominations..

This is probably the first year where I'm perfectly content with any of those nominated for Album of the year winning. I think TBK, Jack White and Frank Ocean deserve it the most though.

The only one I disagree with (Mumford and Sons) will probably win. They are so fuckin' boring.

Yeah thats probably my least favorite album up there. I think TBK has a pretty good shot of winning though. Blunderbuss is my number 1 on that list.

I Think Justin Vernon hit the nail on the head in his response to Droste's rant about being bummed with no nomination

    http://pitchfork.com/news/48851-griz...-are-bullshit/

I have always defended the Grammys as a necessary institution that rewards artists who contributed great work to the music community but this year's nominations definitely have me discouraged. I think the closer the 20 and 30 somethings generations get into the foothold of the institution we could see some progress in acknowledging indie artists and bands that aren't major label fodder. I mean how does Beach House, Grizzly Bear, Hot Chip, etc miss out on even a nod when they sell out shows and play highly billed sets at festivals? It's not as if they aren't popular or known and they all put out critically lauded and fan appreciated albums this year. I just don't get it.

This is the same organization that could call Nirvana a best new artist contender in 1991, and who gave grammies to fuckin' Hootie and the Blowfish. They don't stand for anything and make very little sense.

Their #1 is misleading. Eleanor Rigby won for Best Rock and Roll Solo Vocal Performance and Monday Monday won for Best Rock and Roll Group performance

but still, Christopher Cross sweeping the top 4 awards in the same year -- that is the greatest shame ever.

I don't think there's any debating it. I find the Talking Heads fact slightly hilarious in a tragic way. Also this got me as well

    4. Grammy Roll Call:
    Sting (16) + Sheryl Crow (9) + Black Eyed Peas (6) + Celine Dion (5) = 36 Grammys
    Jimi Hendrix (0) + Led Zeppelin (0) + Bob Marley (0) + The Who (0) = 0 Grammys

It's neither here nor there on whether those top line artists deserve those Grammys, but head slap inducing list of people that got shut out.

This whole list is a countdown of derp, especially the '90s. Beyond clueless.

Why did one Celine Dion album require 14 producers?

I can't imagine a single person that's able to put up with this for the creation of an entire album:

They never recovered for me after giving Milli Vanilli a Grammy.

It was later revoked but really it should have never been given in the first place.

it's driving me nuts who is that at 3:24. I know it's someone I once knew (of). Not Olivia Newton John or Sheena Easton but somebody exactly like that.

Robert Plant won album of the year in 2009. Thats the best the grammys could do to make up for denying Zeppelin.
