I would not doubt it. I think more single day passes will be offered the innagural year to get more locals there. Prices will probably be the same for a 3 day.
I paid around $300 last year because I bought them last minute.
There is no way they would charge that much in Chicago. When I went to Lolla in 2011 I paid $215 for a 3 day pass.
Initial "presale" tier (which sold out in a minute...) $200+$30 in service fees + taxes + $15 shipping
Regular first tier - $240ish + fees and shit (sold out in hour after presales, were supposed to be onsale in January)
"Final tier" - $280 + fees and shit, possibly higher than I've stated here.
Now lets talk Vegas hotels during EDC week: $150-$200/night for a basic room at something like Treasure Island.
Yeeeeeaaaaahh... fuck you Insomniac

Such a fucking rig. I can't believe how much I spent on Coachella/EDC last year.
And at EDC I had fun, but really only enjoyed about 5 whole sets.
They will squeeze everything they can out if it. It will be interesting to see how Chicago's infrastructure adds to or detreacts from the experience. Doubt the level of dancers and theatrical performers can be matched locally in Chicago. Also Chicago is still cold and windy at night that time of year = less pasties in attendance.
The venue will decide many things. I am very curious as to where this will be. Grant Park? Soldier Field? Where else seems reasonable?
I think it will be held in at that park that Future Sound was supposed to be at.
People can't wait to sweat it out to this

They never said the $240 would be on sale in January, they said you could do the layaway tickets for that price during the presale.
You must have no idea how much it costs to throw EDC lol. Just take into consideration the bookings, then consider the performers, then the stages, productions, etc etc etc the expenses go on and on. They don't even break even from ticket sales, they make profit from vendors and food. Insomniac is a business and the point of a business is to make money. Why do you think they should go through the trouble of throwing such a massive event with a ton of production and work that goes into it and not get a decent profit? Mind Boggling

You paid $215 for a 3 day ticket at lolla due to them having a billion sponsors.
All edc's are outside. Im betting its Soldier Field. They did the new york one at metlife stadium, so this will probably be the same set up. Check how much the new york one cost and you can gauge pricing for chicago.
It's just funny how people rage about insomniac prices when they're in line with similar competing festival. Ezoo pre sale was like $320 this year I heard

So with Insomniac being a business as you said...
What business would expand rapidly all over the country with a touring festival if they:Insomniac is a business and the point of a business is to make money.
That seems like a pretty shitty business plan if you're not breaking even with ticket sales. Then they decide to give away water?! So you're telling us that Insomniac makes all of their money off of water bottles, heineken/coors and fresh fruit? They don't even break even from ticket sales, they make profit from vendors and food.
Millions of dollars in beer and fruit!

Well if you're going to throw out Electric Zoo as something to support your argument for Insomniac's prices, then you should also note the shuttle is included - saving people about $60-$100 for the weekend
Regarding EDC LV: Yes, if you purchase a $300 ticket, you should get a ride to the event that is taking over a town like Las Vegas for free. They have more than enough shuttles and busses or at the very least, charge under $30 for it. $60+ for a shuttle pass for the weekend is a little high when you consider you will be waiting in a long ass line to and from the show.

Mugwog you should just start a production company that way you won't have to hope for insomniac to do EDC you can just do everything perfectly. I will support you
Well if I do throw it, will you promise to buy snacks and a drink so I can make a profit
