I'm hoping it will be out at 10. Its been long enough. I can't believe that ACL had their line-up out a day earlier and Lolla had their line-up out for months now. Ranger Dave slacking once again. Damn Hippie.

I disagree I like how Coachella and OSL does it. Who needs the set times so early on? If anything for me if I see the set times so early and see a band I want to see conflicting with a band I have never heard of I'm not even going to even bother researching that band. Set times later on makes me actually research and discover new bands. Though I do admit I have been lacking this year as I am not attending.

Wouldn't an earlier release give you more time to research the unknown band and gauge if the opportunity cost is worth it though?

Really? The earlier you get the set times the more time you have to research new bands. Especially during dead spots in the schedule or at the beginning of the day when it is usually smaller bands. There's nothing worse than researching/listening to a new band for a couple months and then finding out they conflict with one of your favorite bands and you wont get to see them anyways.

Based on all the other festivals, its obvious that these schedules are planned many months in advance (Lolla's schedule was out right after the festival line-up was out) so why not give the attendees more time to figure their ish out, especially if its sold out already.

And Chella getting the schedule out the week of is just ridiculous.

This is a key point. I love discovering new music and once a lineup come's out I will listen from the bottom up...say I start to love the Lone Bellow (which I have for a bit now), but discover they are playing at the same time as GCJ...I would be so torn. Knowing that conflict early on would make me more invested in GCJ and enjoy the Lone Bellow's record, but not get my hopes up about seeing them. The sooner the better.

This is all semantics and probably a reflection of our impatient, entitled culture

Well, I started off by researching all of the bands on the lineup, but once that stage of planning is done, it's nice to have a schedule so that I can focus on the bands I know I'm going to see and familiarize myself with as much of their material as possible. Only so many hours in the day.

You really think set times are going to come without ranger dave tweeting "set times coming in a couple minutes!" then waiting 3 hours?

Do we think there is a chance of Metro Area at Mighty selling out? I'm thinking that's the best option for Friday night but seeing as I will have basically my entire Coachella house in town and it's nearly impossible to get 10+ to commit to something it will likely be a game time decision after sir Paul.

You underestimate people's bad taste in music. You should have seen the mass migration last year during Stevie by all the kids going to see Skrillex.

If they were destined to conflict with your favorite band anyways then let me ask you this then. What is better though, not even bothering to research them because you know they are conflicting with your favorite band, or not being able to see them but at least discovering them and now have another band to go check out in the future?
