I could actually see Phoenix as Twin Peaks headliners with the same sized crowd Passion Pit had (enormous) but I'm not sure if their Sub-Headliner spot on the Main Stae in 2010 affects that theory... But then again The Strokes did close Twin Peaks that year as well... UGH TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES

Yeah but Jack White, Beck, or Foo Fighters haven't headlined Coachella.

Nick, do you have any sources on the band playing other than headliners?

^No jackass I'm not spending hard earned money for airfare, renting a house, car rental etc. on acts of this calber. Especially seeing how I'll see most of the undercard acts at other fest earlier in the season.

renting a car in SF? muni/bus goes right to outside lands, and can take you back to wherever you are in the city afterwards

I don't want to ruin my memory of my first OSL & San Fran experience last year with a shitshow lineup this year. There are those festivals that you'll never forget and last years OSL was one of those. I'm not expecting them to have a repeat of the stellar lineup they had last year but Phoenix & RHCP is a slap in the face after last year. The way fests are shaping up this year you will probably never see another incredibly stacked and Hedliner heavy as the 2012 OSL lineup the way these promoters are starting to short change the kitty.

Just relax buddy, we don't have the line-up yet. While it looks likely that McCartney, Phoenix, and RHCP are headliners, there might be three other very big name acts that will fill in those Beck, Foos, and Jack White spots from last year. They are going to have to sell 10,000 more tickets so they need to bring some kind of thunder because OSL doesn't sell out quickly like the other fests.

However, I get it that you wouldn't want to travel for a weak line-up and last year was stacked. For those of us that live in the Bay Area, we would be happy with a nice balanced line-up which OSL has been good at delivering the past couple of years.

I just think its happening already somewhat & its inevitable that these corporations are downscaling the quality of acts for the bottom line. I'm not going for "The Experience" fuck that EDC mentality bullshit. I love music and I'm going to lose myself in it. I can see all those up and coming undercard acts play full sets in bars & clubs for $10 $25. You youngsters and your "Its all about the undercard" mentality I swear. If your a music lover and you've gone to a festival for the experience instead of the music its likely your going to be either incredibly bored, disappointed or both. I personally have been to fests that the acts didn't do much for me. I'm not a fucking millionaire able to go to any goddamn festival I want so I have to choose bang for the buck.

I don't necessarily disagree with him about the 'mershing down of the acts (which has also happened with Coachella, btw)....but, geez, what a fucking drama queen.

Only on this message board will you find someone having a fit of disappointment over a festival with only 3 acts named and one of them being Macca. I've never been to OSL but it sounds like a huge get to me. If I had the time and free cash I'd make it up just for that.

I personally don't have the time to just go to clubs and venues whenever I want. So surely, the music at the festival is part of the experience... for me at least. That doesn't necessarily mean I have to count on a headliner to be a deciding factor I whether I would like to go or not. Part of the fun about a lineup is discovering new acts and getting to see them live! Also, who said anything about EDM 😒

Eager Beaver are $195 and then when those sell out instantly, the next level will be $215.

Yeah hopefully they start doing wristbands next year. Last year my cousins water bottle leaked in his bag and messed up his ticket. Luckily he was allowed to print another one off ticketmaster.
