    Hall and Oates
MS MR (loved the LCD Soundsystem medley)
The National (would have been higher if not for all the talking)

honorable mention: invading Butter sunday night and watching my good friend become their karaoke god with his version of Thunderstruck.
    ah jeez, I missed that?

they played it just before Hurricane. I guess it wasn't much of a medley, but it was still pretty cool. They went straight from Ash Tree Lane into Dance Yrself Clean. this was a much better set from them than when I saw them at the Echo back in March, that's for sure!

I'm looking specifically for any of these: Twenty One Pilots, Chic, The National, Jessie Ware, Yeasayer, The Head and the Heart, Phoenix, Little Green Cars, Hall and Oates, Vampire Weekend, FOALS, Emeli Sande, Kaskade, and that hour or so of Paul that ranger dave tweeted about streaming on sunday night.

Good to hear. Thanks for the review. I've been waiting for another solo show to catch them.

I forgot to say thanks to the boardies who were talking about the eSurance band on Friday via this thread. My girlfriend and I ended up getting one first thing in the morning Saturday and scanned all day without winning a thing. however on Sunday I won the $50 sold out blanket and she won a OSL sweater. Pretty awesome!
Friday: Outkast, The Replacements, Girl Talk, Chromeo, AFI, The Afghan Whigs, Bastille, Jagwar Ma, Grouplove, Caravan Palace
Saturday: Muse, QOTSA, Pharrell, Foster the People, Empire of the Sun, Kid Cudi, Sleigh Bells, Cage the Elephant, CHVRCHES, Capitol Cities, Temples, Bombay Bicycle Club, Holy Ghost!, Bear Hands
Sunday: Arcade Fire, Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel, Trombone Shorty, Frank Turner, Surfer Blood, J Roddy Walston

Holy shit, that Macca setlist is unbelievable. Tried to make it up for just Friday but real life got in the way. Plus, the Friday top acts were a bit underwhelming but it would've been worth it to hear that 39-song setlist by Macca.

Exactly. I was singing Beatles songs walking out of the festival on Saturday and Sunday.

I would definitely like to see them do their own show with a longer set (they only played for about 40 minutes). Their drummer and trumpet guy were bad asses. Would be nice to see them with a larger horn section.

I hope that there are some full sets for the weekend on youtube/ustream posted.

I walked from the far left side all the way right up there after yeah yeah yeahs without any effort.

edit: I was about 25 feet in front of the soundboard at center.
I was about 40 ft in front of the soundboard to the right. I had less room here than I did for Gary Clarke. A big guy with man titties trying to move up said it was hard moving all the way up so he made it seem like it was pretty packed... Regardless the crowd around me was full of awesome people and I couldn't of been happier with NIN performance. I just hope Coachella books them to headline. Only concern I'd have is whether they'd risk having another Stone Roses embarrassment

btw, why isn't anyone talking about Gary Clark? The dude shreds! Such a good early afternoon performance. I don't know anyone from his band, but man were they good. Loved it when the old white dude did a couple solo's. Pure unadulterated rock n roll

I've been to every OSL except 2009 (single day friday in 08, single day sunday 10 and single day saturday 13) and I must say that last saturday was the best single day of music I've seen at the park. If I were to put a top 12 of OSL performances I've seen I would say

    1. Radiohead
    2. Muse
    3. NIN
    4. Sigur Ros
    5. Gary Clark Jr
    6. Jurassic 5
    7. Phoenix (2010)
    8. Neil Young/Justice
    9. Phantogram
    10. Franz Ferdinand
    11. Black Keys
    12. Passion Pit

I don't like Passion Pit, but the crowd at last year's set was going crazy in a good way, you can't deny that.

Geographer > Mimosa > Big Boi > Passion Pit > Sigur Ros was so great last year. Probably my favorite day of OSL ever.

That Passion Pit set was definitely awful, both in terms of the performance (his voice is -awful- live) and in terms of the crowd full of the exact people we're complaining about from OSL. The rest of the day at that stage wasn't bad at all though... I was actually surprised I liked Mimosa.

after Hall and Oates we could barely get out of the front area because of all the passion pit kiddies pushing their way to the front. guess what, let me get out and you can have room! crazy, huh? I weep for our future.

So I know I am in the minority, but out of the four OSL I have attended, not including this year, Pearl Jam is still my favorite set I've seen. I went in not knowing much about them and left a major fan and one of the best shows I've seen.

    Also awesome photos Ameeps

The posters were weird at the merch. $30 for the screen print but $35 for the lithographs? Didn't make sense to me. At least they gave people poster tubes.

El Pulpo (name of the giant flaming octopus) was dismantled earlier this year. I was wondering if the poster was a sign they'd put it back together and were gonna have it goin somewhere on the grounds but it looks like it was just someone using the image for the sake of making a cool(ish) looking poster.
