Looks like they got their gardener and an 8 year extension to boot. Still not excited about 10k more people. They better have something up their sleeve in terms of logistical improvements. Also, who was calling for there to be open bidding on the contract to promote the festival? That is the single worst idea I have heard in the long line of bad ideas coming from California politics.

How about Springsteen as a possible headliner? I know that he just played Oakland last week, and he played San Jose earlier this year; possible overkill? The tour will continue in Europe in 2013. Might they come back to the bay for a festival appearance when that tour ends at the end of July??

They're obviously a great fit for OSL.

Probably the best fit out of any band we have talked about so far. Is three shows in 18 months too many given the last one will have happened 9 months prior by the time August rolls around? He's probably one of the few acts that could get away with it. The tour dates have a suspicious end date too, especially knowing that one of the headliners has been planning their tour (if they are even on one) around OSL a while.

Springsteen would be so awesome, except for the fact that he wouldn't be allowed to go for 3+ hours.

Yeah, this would make a lot of sense. Bruce to cap off Friday night would be amazing to see.

    Good call.

OSL was amazing last year. The headliners last year targeted an older demographic, if they keep that up again I can see maybe Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Fleetwood Mac being on the bill. For the sub/co headliners (like Jack White and Foo last year), maybe Green Day, Bon Iver, and/or Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Personally I'd just like to see Crystal Castles, Frank Ocean, and M83 make their first OSL appearance in 2013.

Honestly, I don't think you want Bob Dylan on the bill. His band is good still, but I wouldn't see him again.

If Green Day plays then then they will headline. Major bay area band will headline.

This just in...I do not want to see Bob Dylan.

I'll hope for Tallest Man on Earth instead and just close my eyes during his set.

I do want to see Tallest Man, right?

I remember I was at SXSW last year during early birds so mid march. And yeah Bob Dylan is a snoozefest live in the past 10 years unfortunately.

Great name Loblaw. Dropping law bombs.

If I recall correctly, eager beaver tickets went on sale in February this year. I was lucky enough to get a couple with a friend, but they don't sell very many.

I'm guessing the headliner that already got booked is an older act. Maybe Pearl Jam or Depeche Mode.

They're doing a big Euro tour that ends a couple of weeks before OSL.

No American dates announced so far but I'm hoping they'll start soon after Europe.

She will probably perform on the main stage before some kind of classic or older ending act such as Stevie Wonder closing the fest last year.

There could be worse then Taylor Swift. I actually wouldn't mind it at all to be honest.

Well it definitely looks like it's happening from looking at those dates. August 10th in chicago then the 15th in San diego then 4 nights at staples in LA. And no SF dates... lol

Yeah but she also has a two day break between the LA shows and the last LA show and Sacramento so a bay area date could easily be added still.
